Wrap it up!

It was a lovely fall afternoon and I was one of manykids walking home from Bowen going back to Merrionette Manor.  Suddenly, I heard a voice from behind yelling at me.  I turned to see the obnoxious underclassman boy (who shall remain nameless)  who had been chasing me down for weeks at school trying to get a date.  He was a block behind me.  I started to speed walk  - hugging my stack of books to my chest.  He was closing in fast.  I sped up - he sped up.  I saw the viaduct ahead leading into 95th Street.  I had no more strength left and could not run anymore.  At that point I knew I had to face the music.  I whirled around and there he was.  He looked down at me, smiled and laughed.  It was then that I realized that my wrap  skirt had apparently become untied and had fallen off me at some point during my flight.  I was now standing on 95th  Street in my underwear.  Honk, honk. And to add insult to injury, he had my skirt in his left hand.  All I could  mutter was "thanks" as I grabbed the skirt and did a quick rewrap.  Needless to say, it took hours of counseling  with my mother that evening to convince me to ever go back to school.
