Robert James Pell, 59, of Flora, died at 9:20 a.m. July 31, 2006, at L a f a y e t t e Home Hospital, where he had been a patient for two weeks. He had been in ill health since April. Born Nov. 26, 1946, in Newberry, Mich., he was the son of Earl Robert and Ruth MacDonald Pell. He graduated from Bowen High School, Chicago, Ill., in 1965. A U.S. Army veteran, he served from 1966 to 1969 in Turkey during the Vietnam War. He served in the Air National Guard from 1985 to 1987.
