It was bad enough that my mother had been president of my elementary school P.T.A., the local chapter of the National Parent-Teacher Association. But, when she was elected president of my high school P.T.A., I thought there could be nothing more embarrassing in the whole world! Just what a fifteen year old needs — his mother hanging around high school all day!
