It is with an extremely heavy heart that I am writing of the death of my wife, Carole Jeanne Brooks, nee Nart (Bowen '65, Caldwell '62). She was the most loving and caring person that I ever knew or will ever know.

Family was most important in her life but close after that were her many cherished friends. Carole always gave much more than she ever asked for in return. The insidious enemy was pancreatic cancer that cheated her with a head start that was too great to overcome.

The tears may wash away her footprints; but the trove of wonderful memories she created are indelible.

Carole helped to establish a program that identified needy special-ed students who received meals at school during the week, but sometimes had little food for the weekend. These kids would get a backpack full of food to take home every Friday. She recently got a second program rolling in another community. This is going to be her enduring legacy.
