Your Task:
Assemble a "Mr. Potato Head" by separating, manipulating, and layering image elements in Photoshop CC.
Sample Finished Work of a simple Potato Head
What to do:
Day 1:
Download and then open the file: namePOTATOHEAD.PSD in Adobe Photoshop.
Choose File > Save As and replace the "name" if the file name with your name like so: wesley_POTATOHEAD.PSD. Now, you have a version of the file to work with and edit. Make sure to save this file to your desktop/ Unit folder (not your downloads!).
In the .PSD file, rename all of your layers with a name that describe the fruit/veggie (this will make it easier to work with your many layers)
Make COBS (cut-out backgrounds) of all of the image layers provided so that each fruit/ veggie has a transparent background -- this is your chance to practice using the different Selection Tools in Photoshop and learn which selection tool is the best choice for the job!
Don't forget to click File >Save as you work and save your progress periodically!
___________
Day 2:
Assemble your own "Potato Head" artwork. You will need to copy/paste or duplicate layers, and use the free-transform tool to rotate and resize fruit/veggie images into position in your artwork -- as long as it resembles a face, let your creativity guide you.
Lastly, add a background to your artwork. This can be a simple fill colour (like in the above sample of finished work), or you may find and add a different image/photo (as seen in the finished student work below)
Choose File > Save to save your final finished artwork as a Photoshop File with all the layers to HAND-IN
Your fruits and veggies should all look like this when COBS done... (see above).
Please Note - Additional images from the web may be incorporated. Make sure your images have a high resolution (quality).
