The Elements of Design:
The easiest way of thinking of the elements of design is to compare them to cooking ingredients. If I was making a pizza, I would need "elements" or ingredients.
No ingredients. No pizza. You can't make something out of "nothing."
In terms of art, these are the ingredients available to artists to create art.
No elements of visual design. No design/art.
The 7 elements of Design are:
1. LINE
2. SHAPE
3. FORM
4. COLOUR
5. TEXTURE
6. SPACE
7. VALUE (TONE)
You Task:
Please RESEARCH about your assigned element with your group.
There is a link to tmi - photo.com below with great examples and also
a video from YouTube. Don't be limited to only these two resources.
COLLECT INFO and COMPLETE A CHART for your element.
Open a new WORD document and set up a table with three columns
see the example shown here
You will be presenting your information and photo examples to the class.
You will hand-in your completed chart on your assigned element of design.
The teacher will compile everyone's INFO and examples
to create a class handout for every student with all 7 elements of design.
