Iowa DOT's Winter Operations GIS Solutions
This presentation will cover how Iowa DOT tracks their entire fleet of plows and then uses that AVL data to produce the widely popular Track-A-Plow ArcGIS Online site, WOPR and the upcoming AGOL site that allows Iowans to see how much time, material and money the DOT is using to keep Iowa's roads clean. This application will roll out on 1/20/2016. I will cover how we take the AVL feed from the vendor; process the data and how we developed our internal and external web applications and maps. I will cover our database structure, REST service and ArcGIS Online infrastructure and FME Server which is used to process the data.
