Solutions-Focused Coaching

Workshop Description

This workshop is for staff who are involved in the supervision and/or support of medical students. The workshop provides an introduction to solutions-focussed coaching and explores the strategies and approaches you can use to enhance current practice.

Aim

• Introduce solution-focused coaching (SFC) and explore SFC techniques and tools in your personal and academic tutoring role

Learning Outcomes

• Explain key elements of a non-directive and solution-focused coaching approach

• Identify how a solution-focused coaching approach can influence student performance

• Use the phases within the OSKAR framework in relation to conversations with students
