Introduction to Scholarship of Learning and Teaching

Workshop Description

This workshop aims to provide the time and space for participants to take the first step towards turning their teaching practice and innovations into scholarly work. The workshop will introduce scholarship and Learning and Teaching and together, we will think about what we might publish, where we might publish it and get started to turning an idea into an abstract to submit.

1. Review some examples of medical education journals and disseminations sites and the types of manuscripts published in these

2. Explore barriers and motivators for educational scholarship

3. Consider strategies and sources of support that will to enable participants to continue with publishing their educational scholarship

4. Draft an abstract for a medical education conference or Medical education’s ‘Really good stuff’
