Students tells us ‘…to get someone ... to actually sit down and properly listen to and give you genuinely informed feedback... it’s some of the best teaching I’ve had…’
And yet they also tell us that they do not receive enough of it and more importantly they fail to recognise or to remember the feedback that they are given. If you would you like to improved your feedback giving to students, then please come along to this workshop. This workshop will aim to introduce you to the basics in feedback theory and practice. It will support you with examples of assessment types in the MBChB and opportunities for feedback and how to maximise student learning through these.
To enable you to explore feedback practice and relate your approaches to support student learning
Explain the purpose of feedback its role in enhancing student learning
Describe the core principles that guide good feedback practices and the value of signposting
Consider your feedback practice within the context of your discipline and explore strategies to improve its effectiveness
Reflect on your experience with feedback and share best practice from colleagues
