Keeping up with all the exciting events happening in Shakespeare College since Easter
Year 10 Reward Trip - Shakespeare's Globe
On Tuesday 29th April, selected Year 10 students embarked on a trip to remember, to London, to visit a number of world renowned places of interest, including Borough Market, The Golden Hinde and Shakespeare's Globe Theatre.
Each section of the trip allowed students new experiences:
Borough Market enthralled the taste buds with viral strawberries covered in chocolate and the most delicious sticky donuts. The students could not resist!
The Golden Hinde gave students a real insight into Elizabethan travel.
Our visit to The Globe Theatre was an exciting one! We were lucky enough to have a tour of the world famous theatre whilst rehearsals were taking place for this year's production of Romeo and Juliet. We had to be very quiet as we moved from the cheap seats to the posh seats and our tour guide was even told off by the director!
It was a fantastic day and we all learned lots of information about Shakespeare and his Globe, which Year 10 can use to their advantage in their GCSE English Literature Studies

Thank you Shakespeare!
As this is the end of my tenure as Assistant Head of College for Shakespeare, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for making my time in Shakespeare such a wonderful experience.
I am so proud to have been part of Shakespeare College and watched all the achievements you have made in the last two years. I have seen students represent their country at a variety of sports, watched a Year 7 boy quietly smash both reading challenges we have at Sir Geoffrey Leigh, celebrated the return of the Sports Day trophy to its rightful place, laughed many, many times with you, told a few of you off and helped numerous Year 11s through the stress of GCSE examinations.
You are all amazing young people and I feel the future is very brright for you all. You have the most amazing team around you to see you through to Year 13, so I know you'll all be successful.
Don't forget to let me know how things are going; I'll just be along the corridor in Seacole College.

Hellos and Goodbyes
It is with mixed emotions that we announce the departure of our esteemed Assistant Headteacher, Ms Bodle, who will be moving on to a new role at Seacole College. While we are incredibly sad to see her go, we wish her every success.
Ms Bodle has been an absolutely integral part of our college community, touching countless lives and shaping so much of what makes our college special. She has poured her heart and soul into every aspect of her work. Her dedication, unwavering support for both students and staff, and tireless efforts have left an indelible mark on us all.
We'll certainly miss her on our team, though we suspect the competition for Sports Day glory and top reward points just got a whole lot more interesting now that she's at Seacole! May the best college win!
We also wish to acknowledge the upcoming transitions of several tutors to other colleges next academic year. Our sincere thanks are extended to Mr. Harman, Mr. Wilson, Ms. Lee, Mr Buraimoh and Ms. Coules for their dedicated commitment and invaluable support to their tutees within Shakespeare College.
With this departure, we are pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Adam Guildford as an Assistant Headteacher, effective September. Mr. Guildford joins us as part of the school's strategic expansion, which includes welcoming additional staff to our college team.
