On Thursday, 17th July, 90 of our students embarked, as part of their chosen reward trip, on a thrilling adventure to Adventure Island in Southend-on-Sea. The day was filled with excitement, laughter, and an impressive display of bravery as students conquered some of the park's most exhilarating rides.
The students travelled comfortably by coach, arriving ready to make the most of the day. The weather was fantastic, providing the perfect backdrop for a day of fun in the sun. With a height requirement of 130cm, many of the students were able to experience the park's biggest and most popular attractions.
Among the highlights were rides like:
Rage: The park’s premier rollercoaster, which boasts a vertical lift, a beyond-vertical drop, and multiple inversions.
The Dragon's Claw: A spinning pendulum ride that swings riders high into the air, offering a unique sensation of weightlessness.
Green Scream: A classic wooden rollercoaster that provides a high-speed, twisting ride with plenty of airtime hills.
Barnstormer: A thrilling ride that simulates a biplane flying through the air, with loops and dips that make you feel like a stunt pilot.
Kite Flyer: A high-flying adventure that spins riders around while they are suspended in a prone position, simulating the feeling of flying.
Pharaoh's Fury: An iconic swinging pirate ship that swings higher and higher with each pass, delivering a rush of adrenaline.
Sky Drop: A terrifyingly fun drop tower that lifts riders to a great height before plummeting them back down to Earth.
In addition to the bigger rides, students also enjoyed classics like the Dodgems and the Adventure Island Ferris Wheel, which offered stunning views of the park and the Southend seafront.
A huge thank you to all the staff members who accompanied the students and ensured a safe and well-organised trip. Their hard work helped to make the day a memorable success. We look forward to our next school trip and the opportunity for more shared experiences!
