More about El Dorado Community School:
Greetings and welcome to El Dorado Community School’s website! El Dorado Community School, home of the Dust Devils, is located off Highway 285 in the semi-rural community of Eldorado. Our school is serves students in kindergarten through 8th grade from Eldorado, Lamy, Galisteo, Glorieta, and beyond. The heart of our school is teaching and learning, and our students are supported by a cadre of passionate, dedicated, and experienced teaching staff. Our teachers and staff focus on supporting students’ learning needs. We pride ourselves on offering students enriching experiences connected to the curriculum.
El Dorado students in grades K-5 participate in art, music, and physical education. In addition to art and physical education, our middle school students also participate in Orchestra, Band, or Choir. Middle school students have opportunities to take other electives, such as Piano Lab, Pop Choir, and German. Our specials’ teachers have created strong and well-regarded art, music, and physical education programs. Our school is very fortunate to have a library media specialist to oversee our beautiful library.
El Dorado students have opportunities to engage in a variety of extracurricular activities based at the school. Students can choose to be part of the PTA-sponsored After School Enrichment Program, which offers a variety of fun classes like Lego Club, Cooking, Cartooning/Graphic Novel, Open Studio (art), Jujitsu, and more. Our school has a middle school athletics program that includes sports such as girls’ volleyball, cross country, girls’ and boys’ basketball, football, and track and field. Students in grades 6-8 can also participate in Student Council, Yearbook, and Project GUTS. Our school has regular, daily aftercare for students in grades K-5.
We encourage you to become involved in our school community. One way is through being active in our amazing and supportive PTA. They sponsor events such as the Fun Run, Fall Fest, and Rock the Arts. Check out their website at www.eldoradopta.org .
