Kelly Rider teaches 7th and 8th grade Visual Art in the El Dorado Community School Academy, and this is her second year as part of the art department. Originally from Boulder, Colorado, Ms. Rider went to went to college in New York City to study art. She received a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from Pratt Institute, Brooklyn, and later a Master of Fine Arts from Columbia College Chicago. As an adult, Ms. Rider has lived in diverse places including New York, England, Chicago, Massachusetts, California, and New Mexico-- twice. For more than 20 years, Ms. Rider taught art where she landed-- in schools, museums, art centers, and her garage. Ms. Rider loves working in most art media, but especially: printmaking, paper & book arts, drawing, and sculpture.
For fun, Kelly enjoys travelling with her family, hiking, and exploring the mountains with her three kids.
