Welcome! I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself.
I was born and raised on Long Island, New York. I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and dual certification in both General and Special Education at Molloy College. I then went on to earn a Master’s Degree in Education at Hofstra University. In 1989 I began my teaching career in Brooklyn, NY where I worked with birth-5 year old children with special needs. Later, I served families, with special needs children, as a service coordinator/case manager. In this role I assisted families with the early intervention process involving evaluations and delivery of educational and related services. In 2001, I left New York, spent 1 year in San Diego, and then moved to Thoreau, New Mexico. I acquired my New Mexico Level III teaching certifications in K-8 and Special Education and worked for nine years for Gallup-McKinley Public Schools and the Bureau of Indian Education. In 2011 I realized a decade long dream of moving to Santa Fe and began teaching at El Dorado Community School. This is my 9th year with EDCS and I am thrilled to be here.
