learning goals

• create an animated film company logo for your Film Project or animated personal logo

• become even more familiar with the timeline and the concept of keyframes

• become familiar with visualizing shapes, visual hierarchy, and a full logo

• Use what you've learned from previous projects and apply it to your project

Student Tasks

1. Watch the entire logo animation 1 video for inspiration and ideas

   • be sure to understand that a couple of time he is using 3rd party animations which you do not have access to.  Ignore those but you can make your own

   • consider adding saber which is a free add-on

2. Watch Examples 1, 2, 3

   • 1 & 2 use Illustrator Layers

   • 3 uses Photoshop

3. Create your own Film Company logo in Illustrator or Photoshop

   • think about the size of the after effects file (usually 1920 x 1080)

   • set document colour mode to RGB because AE is in RGB

   • you could choose the same size or make it small so you can move it where ever you want

   • Think Critically about the best / easiest way to accomplish what you want

     • if you are not modifying the font do it in AE

     • if you are modifying the font create in most likely AI

     • if you want brushes, masks, etc. use photoshop

4. Animate it for the start of all your videos.  Just like you see in movies, tv shows and YouTube videos.  

5. You are not expected to follow the movie. It is there as an example/inspiration only. You are expected make your own ORIGINAL logo.  

6. Export with Adobe Media Encoder

7. Upload to Google Drive

   • make sure to put it in your video exports folder that you already changed share settings to: SD48 can view with the link

8. Place on your After Effects page

9. Answer "What I Learned"

10. Publish you portfolio and copy published site link
