Create an experimental film based on a pre-determined theme in 3 days
Use different shot types and sound effects to convey different emotions
Refresh your skills in Adobe Premiere Pro
Challenge yourself to work within the given time constraints to produce a finished product (time management)
Total time: 3 classes
Grading Criteria (for 10/10):
Must have at least 10 different shot types/sizes
Must have audio (music and/or sound FX)
Must have a title
Must use some type of effect/filter on at least half of the shots (in Premiere, these can be found under the video effects menu--SEE IMAGES BELOW FOR REFERENCE ON WHERE TO FIND THESE!)
You can work solo or with a partner
Remember, you only have 3 classes to complete this!
Get a random theme from this Random Theme Generator
Write down the theme words!
Take 30 minutes to brainstorm (mind-map) and write out a brief shot list
Don't dwell on this for too long! Experimental film is a very open genre so have fun with it.
Refer to the rubric so you know what is required (ie. shot types, # of shots etc.)
Once you have your idea, it is time to film!
Set aside no more than 1 hour of time for this part
Once filming is complete, upload your footage to Google Drive, download it on your computer, and put your film together in Premiere Pro
Tutorial videos below if you need a refresher
Don't forget to add Sound FX
Maximum 1 minute in length
Export as .mp4
Upload your final film to Drive and post to your Digital Portfolio
Don't forget the What I've Learned questions!
What were your 3 theme words?
What was the most challenging part of this project?
Are you happy with the finished product? Why or why not?
What would you do differently next time?
