Multiplicity
Have you ever wanted to be in multiple places at once?
Have you ever wanted to be in multiple places at once?
Students will be able to:
mask a subject with most appropriate masking method
Use soft brushes to create seamless transitions between photos
duplicate a mask with alt-click & drag (maybe)
10/10 = 4 or more photos used, excellent attention to detail with masking (you can't tell where one photo starts and the other ends), variety in poses to create visual interest, all What I've Learned questions answered thoughtfully.
8-9/10 = 3-4 photos used, great attention to detail with masking, good variety in poses to create visual interest, all What I've Learned questions answered thoughtfully.
6-7/10 = 2-3 photos used, good attention to detail with masking but you can still see some overlap in areas, some variety in poses/positioning, most What I've Learned questions answered.
0-5/10 = 2 photos used, little attention to detail with masking, minimal variety of poses or positioning, What I've Learned questions are incomplete or missing.
You will need at least 4 photos of you (or a friend) in different poses and positions in the frame (see examples below).
If using an iPhone, make sure your camera settings are set to "Most Compatible". HEIC photos will not work!
The background must be exactly the same each time--use a tripod or prop your phone up with a chair/books etc.
Make sure the lighting doesn't change between photos
Take some extras and pick the best takes later
Play around with positioning: close up, far away, off-frame, standing, crouching etc... More variety = visual interest
When you have photos you are happy with, upload them to your SD48 Google Drive so you can access them on your computer.
Import your favourite 4 images (or more if you'd like) into Photoshop
File > New > 2000px x 1500px
File > Place Embedded > Pick your photos (press CTRL to select multiple at once)
Watch the tutorial below
When finished, post to your digital portfolio along with the What I've Learned questions
Hand in the link on Google Classroom
What masking method did you use for your work? Did you use any other techniques/tools? If yes, which ones?
What do you like most about your work?
What might you try differently next time (or how else do you think you could use this skill)?
