It was so nice to meet everyone last night! I can't believe we just finished Project SEEK for the year! I had the best time in this class, and we had such a great group! I have attached a few pictures in an email.
I apologize if your student comes home with a stomachache, we had a fun day watching a movie (Hannah Montana The Movie - Taylor was in it for a brief period) and eating lots of snacks! Thank you to everyone who brought something to share.
Thank you so much to everyone for your support and participation in this class, from printing pictures to emailing pictures to providing snacks to coming to open house - I truly appreciate it.
Please let me know if you have any questions or comments. Have a great rest of your summer!
Thank you,

We had a great day today watching Taylor's Folklore concert and learning about her songs and her songwriting process. A few upcoming events:
Project SEEK's Open House will be this week on Wednesday evening, from 5:00-7:00 pm. Feel free to stop by to see all of the wonderful projects that our students have been working on! (NOTE: PLEASE bring/email pictures to me by TOMORROW, as we will have a lot of time to finalize our projects tomorrow.)
When you arrive at North Branch Middle School, you can park in the lot to the east side of the building, then walk to door #25 to enter the building.
You can stop by your child's classroom to see what they've been up to, as well as other rooms to see what's happening in other classes.
One of our classes, Strike it Rich, will be selling a few food items in the cafeteria such as hot dogs, pizza and nachos! Proceeds from the sale of these items will be donated to a charity of the classes choosing, Como Zoo.
On Thursday, we have a birthday celebration! I will provide some snacks but was thinking it could be fun to do a potluck type situation if people are willing. NOT required! If you did choose to bring something, we do have dairy, gelatin, and red meat allergies in our class.
As always, please reach out to me at meganboxrud98@gmail.com if there are any questions or concerns. If there is a transportation change, please email pseek@scred.k12.mn.us to let Amy or Cat know!

We had a fun day listening to Lover and hearing the process of Taylor's songwriting. We were able to get a lot of work done on our open house projects, and the students all have a plan on how to get pictures for their project if they don't have them already.
Have a great weekend, and I'll see everyone for Folklore on Monday!
As always, please reach out to me at meganboxrud98@gmail.com if there are any questions or concerns. If there is a transportation change, please email pseek@scred.k12.mn.us to let Amy or Cat know!

We had a great Reputation day today, complete with watching music videos and behind the scenes, learning some literary devices that Taylor uses a lot (similes, metaphors, alliteration, personification, idiom, and hyperbole) and working on our open house projects!
I sent an email about the project, and am asking if you feel comfortable, if you could either send pictures to class with your child, or email them to me.
As always, please reach out to me at meganboxrud98@gmail.com if there are any questions or concerns. If there is a transportation change, please email pseek@scred.k12.mn.us to let Amy or Cat know!

Happy Extended Day! We had so much fun today! We watched the Eras Tour, ate lots of candy and popcorn, and made tons of friendship bracelets. My uncle came in and we gave him the best Taylor songs to listen to. I am really enjoying this class, and I hope all the students are too.
Reminder: NO CLASS TOMORROW! I will see everyone on Thursday for Reputation.
As always, please reach out to me at meganboxrud98@gmail.com if there are any questions or concerns. If there is a transportation change, please email pseek@scred.k12.mn.us to let Amy or Cat know!

Happy Monday! We had a fun day today watching 1989 music videos, listening to the inspiration behind some of Taylor's songs, and discussing artists who have switched musical genres throughout their career. We have our extended day tomorrow, from 8:30-2:30. We will be watching the Eras Tour, making friendship bracelets, and more fun activities!
We talked in class today about making a 'candy salad' tomorrow - if your child has a favorite movie snack and is able, feel free to bring candy, drinks, or other snacks! I will be providing some allergen safe candies, popcorn, and juice. I'll also have bowls and cups if anyone wants to bring soda or anything. You do NOT have to bring anything, we will have more than enough snacks.
Your child can bring whatever they want to feel comfy for our movie - blankets, pillows, stuffed animals, and they can feel free to wear PJs, or Eras outfits.
Please have your child bring a lunch. There will also be an opportunity to buy snack from Strike it Rich!
As always, please reach out to me at meganboxrud98@gmail.com if there are any questions or concerns. If there is a transportation change, please email pseek@scred.k12.mn.us to let Amy or Cat know!

Week one is officially done! I am so enjoying this class. Today we learned about Red, and watched a bunch of music videos while playing Bingo. We created playlists based on different emotions, such as having a crush on someone or dance songs. We were on clean-up duty for snack, and the kids had a great attitude about it, which was very appreciated. I will send out an email detailing Tuesday's extended day plans as well as a few other details.
Monday is 1989 day, so please remind your students to wear light blue!
As always, please reach out to meganboxrud98@gmail.com if there are any questions or concerns. If there is a transportation change, please email pseek@scred.k12.mn.us to let Amy or Cat know!

Another successful day of Project SEEK! We learned about Speak Now and had our tie-breaker round of jeopardy! We watched some clips of Taylor's acting career during this era as well as more music videos. We got to get moving with a game and took turns guessing what, if anything, Taylor will do during her 100th Eras Tour show tonight in Liverpool.
Tomorrow is Red day so please remind your students to wear red! I will send out an email tomorrow detailing Tuesday's extended day plans.
As always, please reach out to meganboxrud98@gmail.com if there are any questions or concerns. If there is a transportation change, please email pseek@scred.k12.mn.us to let Amy or Cat know!

Hello! We learned about Fearless today and had a lot of fun playing "Music Video Bingo". We listened to songs by Dolly Parton, Faith Hill, and other artists that inspired this album. We played two rounds of Taylor Swift jeopardy and will play a tiebreaker round tomorrow.
Tomorrow is Speak Now day, so please remind your children to wear purple! I'll try and get a picture of the whole class in their purple.
As always, please reach out to meganboxrud98@gmail.com if there are any questions or concerns. If there is a transportation change, please email pseek@scred.k12.mn.us to let Amy or Cat know!

We had a great first class! I really enjoyed meeting everyone and getting into the routine of Swiftie Mania! Today was spent getting to know each other through a friendship bracelet activity, learning about Taylor's debut album, and listening to the songs on that album, as well as songs by artists that Taylor was inspired by.
For our open house project, we are creating our own Eras Tour Posters, which may or may not (depending on the student) include pictures of them from when they were younger. If you and your child feel comfortable, you can email me pictures at meganboxrud98@gmail.com and I can print them out. Please also reach out with any questions, comments, or concerns you may have!
Thank you,
Ms. Boxrud
