Hello, parents and students! We are only a week away from Project SEEK starting and Destiny and I are so excited to see you! We have an excellent program planned for the next three weeks and can't wait to get started. Below is our welcome letter which you should have already received last week, via email:
Hello Shakespeare’s Kids’ parents!
We are looking forward to your child being in our Project Seek class this year! During our time together we will have fun, play games and put together a performance! Our class will also have a pizza and awards party on the last day. We wanted to let you know of this ahead of time because we will be asking each student to bring $6 to help us fund the pizza and awards.
Watch for an email from us in the next few weeks. We will be sending part of the script for your student to look at before the first day of the class! If you have any questions before then, please reach out!
Thank you!
Karlajean Becvar and Destiny Pierce
6/14/22
We had an awesome first day! Students came prepared and ready to go with auditions! We spent time getting to know each other, playing acting games that help us hone our acting skills, after break, we had try-outs. Parts will be cast today.
6/16/22
Yesterday, parts were cast and today, we started blocking (having the actors move on "stage"). Everyone has embraced their parts and are doing an excellent job developing their individual characters and learning their lines. We have some really fun costumes planned for many of the parts and will begin "construction"on our sets next week.
We are also in need of LOTS of newspapers to make our beanstalk. Therefore, if you have newspaper stacks at home that you are hoping to recycle, please send them our way next week, by Wednesday.
Thanks! Feel free to reach out to either one of us any time if you have any questions.
6/17/22
Students continue to work hard on their lines. Please remember to send newspapers with your child next week as we will be constructing our beanstalk and sets.
6/20/22-6/21/22
Good Morning, Parents! We are eager to report that the play is going very well. Students are working so very hard on their lines AND their characters. You are in for a marvelous theater experience on Parents' Night and we can't wait to have you come.
Just a reminder. Parents' Night is NEXT WEDNESDAY, June 29th from 5:00 until 7:00. We have two performances scheduled that evening:
