Welcome, and let's get things rolling!
Firstly, they should create a DnDBeyond.com account. This is done by logging into dndbeyond with a gmail account. HOWEVER, you will not be able to create an account if the gmail account is of a minor (under 13). If this is an issue, I will create the character with them. The benefit of having an account is that they can update and read up on their character from home, and take it with them forever. Once we have them created I will be printing off character sheets and we won't need it in day to day activities.
During our typical day we will socialize a bit while we get everyone together, then start our adventuring session. We'll take a break for snacks around 10:30 then go back to adventuring until it is time to leave.
We also have a couple of independent projects the students will work on throughout the course:
Student choice projects: character sheet, artwork, stories
Map making: play map or region map
Currently we are planning to spend the first day on character development and picking miniatures. The students will also be able to pick a set of dice from what I have, and both of these items are theirs to keep. I'll be ordering the miniatures on day one so that we can get them and use them a bit in actual play.
I hope that everyone is staying safe, and I thank you for choosing to participate this year as we do what we can to enrich your lives. I'm sure we will all have the best of times!
To recap, they only need to bring a snack if they wish (NO NUTS), and a login for dndbeyond.com, if they created one.
At this point our characters are starting to figure out who they are. We've overcome some major obstacles and gained our first level-up. Everyone is starting to find their place in the team and work together, and it's been great to watch.
I have ordered miniatures so we should see those "soon". For our extended day we will be having lunch in our room. Students are welcome to bring a lunch if that suits them better, but I will also be ordering a sausage pizza and chicken from dominos. We will otherwise stay in our room and just keep adventuring.
I hope everyone is having a wonderful week. I'll get some pictures on Thursday to wrap the week up!
Everyone was super excited with the new miniatures which arrived in time for Tuesday.
We've delved deeper into two dungeons now and they are starting to realize everything might be connected underground. We're going to spend the next couple sessions dealing with anything else on the surface before digging deeper.
We had a blast. If you couldn't make it I'll have the certificates for you tomorrow for our last day. See you therer!
We experienced a most epic ending to our campaign; be sure and ask the students for the amazing details. I don't think any of us will forget that for a very long time. Congratulations to the party for their success, and feel free to level up to 10.

Thanks again for all of the wonderful memories! I hope everyone had a great adventure.
