4-6
In this class, you will have the opportunity to become an entrepreneur by learning to run a business and make a profit! Running a business is hard work and you'll find out as the shopkeeper of the Project SEEK snack shop by designing and testing products in the store with your customers and finally, but not limited to, researching and learning about ways to advertise and types of marketing tools. While doing all of this we will keep a transaction record to track our income and expenses. Create/make your own products? You bet! Sell it too? You bet! Don't miss this class. It's RICH with great activities, experiences and FUN! This course can be taken a second time.

'Twas the night before Open House and all through Project SEEK, the students were working, and making the treats!
June 18th, 2024
We are in the black! This means we are out of debt and making a profit. Woo Hoo! Everyday, our SEEK Snack Shack is steadily increasing in sales. We have added some new products like giant pickles and pickle juice. Twinkies are still a huge hit. And cheese sticks... well? Not so much. Slime is still super popular. A few of us are learning how NOT to dye our hands blue. Ha! And others are discovering that they like to cook!
Our extended day was a nice hot and sweaty walk to Pizza Pub! I'd like to make a disclaimer that I did NOT endorse any sort of gambling at the arcade! "Strike-it-Rich" does not mean, "Win BIG with your parents cash at the Coin Pusher Arcade game." 😂 🤑
Then we walked to Kwik Trip. Wow! The manager there gave us a behind the scenes tour. It was fantastic! She taught us about inventory, security, customer service and advertising. And as a special treat, she gave every one of us FREE smoothies AND a coupon for next time!
I asked one of our business owners, "How do you feel after having a few days of sales?" She answered,
"You feel a little sad because something you worked so hard on is gone (sold), but then you also feel so good because you sold that product and the momentum to make more is there people can buy them. It's so exciting! It feels really nice knowing people want to buy something you made!"

June 13th: It's Day 3 and we are "in the black" already! Our little entrepreneurs are showing great business savvy in marketing, advertising and customer service skills at the Snack Shack. I'm also seeing them take initiative, show creativity and problem solve together. They are quite the team!
The word "rich" doesn't necessarily mean wealthy. After all, money doesn't buy happiness. We can be rich in other things too. Like rich in friendship, love, sharing positivity and helping others! That's why our class has decided to donate 10% of our profits to a non-profit that is important to us. We voted and chose The Como Zoo and Conservatory!
Hello Fellow Entrepreneurs!!!
We hope that you are prepared for a memorable time at S.E.E.K. this year, as we will be operating the SEEK store and developing and selling some of our own product ideas.
Your “homework” assignment for the next couple of weeks, before we see each other on Tuesday, June 11th, is to think of a few ideas that our “business” can develop, market, and sell. While you are thinking of these ideas, please write down the supplies that we would need to make the product and any ideas that you would have for marketing (promoting) the product.
On the first day, please bring the following to class:
Your idea sheet, a pencil and a spiral notebook to write other ideas in. We will provide you with a binder for our time together, that way we will all stay organized and have our business materials all in one place! Also, as “business owners”, we would like to see a smile and a positive attitude each day!!!
Until Tuesday, June 11th, make the most out of the school time you have left! If you have further questions, please contact me at 651-213-2113 or by e-mail at lwaterworth@isd2144.org .
Sincerely,
Mrs. Waterworth
