Dear Project Seek Students and Families,

Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Meghann Records and have been a teacher for the past 5 years. I have taught 5-12 grades throughout my teaching career and am excited to teach this summer with Project Seek! This past year I taught 5th grade at C.E. Jacobson Elementary, this was my first year in the SCRED district and I love it! My greatest passion in education is ancient civilizations so I am excited to explore Ancient Egypt with you. I look forward to a great few weeks of learning!

During our exploration of this amazing ancient civilization, we will discover the roles of Gods and Goddesses, different Pharaohs and dynasties, the process of mummification and the obsession with the afterlife, the caste system in Ancient Egypt and the architecture of the time. During this exploration we will experience archaeological principles and anthropological principles. We will be detectives of the past as we work to uncover what made Ancient Egypt a successful civilization and eventually the downfall of the empire. Come Ready to explore and be creative!

 To be prepared for our adventure, please send students with a box of sugar cubes, a can of frosting and coloring supplies. I look forward to starting on June 12th!
