Calling all Swifties! If you love Taylor Swift and her music, this course is for you! In this course, we will dive into Taylor Swift's history, lyrics, her business ventures, and create short stories based on her songs. We will focus on the emotional aspect of Taylor Swift's music and create playlists based on moods or emotions. We will watch The Eras Tour movie and play lots of Taylor Swift-themed games, and so much more! This course can be taken a second time.
Megan Boxrud: I am a school social worker in the Twin Cities. I have been working with and teaching students for a long time and I am a Swiftie! I love to be outside, read, hang out with family and friends, pet my cat Scarlett, and watch movies. I am so excited to be able to teach this class and meet all of you!

Happy last day of SEEK! Today we went over The Tortured Poet's Department and played some jeopardy, as well as watched a play! This has been an amazing few weeks! Have a great rest of your summer!

Today we went over Midnights. We also went to a play and an art show - it was a busy day! Can't wait for open house tonight! Tomorrow is The Tortured Poet's Department, so black and white is the theme! Crazy that we only have one day left!

Today we learned about folklore and evermore, and watched half of Taylor's folklore concert. We had a lot of brain breaks as we couldn't go outside due to the rain. Tomorrow is Midnights day so feel free to wear dark blue!
June 24
Today we learned about Lover and watched a few clips of interviews from Taylor. We had work time and finished our Eras posters and shared our stories! Those will all be at Open House, which is on Thursday from 5-7. Tomorrow is Folklore/Evermore, so the clothing vibe can best be described as woodsy, or plaid and brown/grey.

Happy Monday! Today we learned about Reputation and had a lot of time to work on our Eras posters and stories! We watched an interview with Taylor, and played Guess The Song. Tomorrow we will be going through the album Lover, feel free to dress in pastel colors or red/pink!

Today, we learned about 1989 and had time to work on our Eras posters as well as our short stories, which we will continue to work on next week! Monday is Reputation day, so feel free to wear black or green! Have a fantastic weekend!

What a fun day! We watched the Eras Tour, made candy salad (video will be emailed to you, it will not be shared anywhere else), had snacks, and made tons of friendship bracelets! Reminder that there is NO CLASS TOMORROW! See you on Friday for 1989, please wear light blue or lighter colors if you choose!

Today we learned about Red, as well as other artists who have changed musical genres in their career, such as Taylor switching from country to pop. We talked about Extended Day tomorrow and decided to make a candy salad! We had recess and filled out some MadLibs, as well as played Music Video Bingo! Tomorrow, your students can wear comfy clothes or PJs, and bring blankets/pillows/stuffies!

Happy Monday! Today we learned about Speak Now and Taylor's acting career. We also started brainstorming our Open House projects as well as short stories based on Taylor's songs! Tomorrow is Red day, so wear red if you so choose!

Happy Friday! Today, we created our own Bingo cards, learned about Fearless and Taylor's time on SNL, and filled out MadLibs. We also started brainstorming songs to write short stories about, which will be next weeks' activty along with the Eras Posters. I am having so much fun with this class! Monday we will learn about Speak Now, and if your child would like, they can wear purple for the album! Have a fantastic weekend!

Today was so much fun! We learned about Taylor's debut album, played Music Video Bingo, and learned about her masters' saga (which led to her re-recording a bunch of her music). We also made playlists for when you feel mad, happy, or sad. Tomorrow we are going to learn about Fearless, so if your child would like to wear yellow or gold, feel free!

Hello!! Today was the first day of class and we had a lot of fun! I explained the layout of the class, we read a book about Taylor's life, played Jeopardy, filled out Mad Libs, and had recess! Tomorrow we start going through each album, so we will start with her debut album, Taylor Swift! If your child would like to wear green to match the album, feel free! Can't wait for tomorrow!
