4-6
In this class, you will have the opportunity to become an entrepreneur by learning to run a business and make a profit! Running a business is hard work and you'll find out as the shopkeeper of the Project SEEK snack shop by designing and testing products in the store with your customers and finally, but not limited to, researching and learning about ways to advertise and types of marketing tools. While doing all of this we will keep a transaction record to track our income and expenses. Create/make your own products? You bet! Sell it too? You bet! Don't miss this class. It's RICH with great activities, experiences and FUN!
This course can be taken a second time.
Tour of Kwik Trip and then walk to Pizza Pub for lunch!
Students will need to bring their own money to purchase lunch. Students will be ordering for themselves and paying their own tab plus tip! A menu will be posted as we get closer to the date.

Day 8 update....the team is super excited to be "in the black" $222.45! However, their supply list for Open House has them a little cautious in how much they want to order. We've had the discussion that you have to spend money to make money, but they still remain a little apprehensive about their order.
Day 6 update.....the extended day took us to Pizza Pub for lunch. We learned about how to tip and compute the tip mentally. We have to say that the group did fantastic with this! After lunch we headed over to Kwik Trip where we learned about the "ins and outs" of running a chain store. They also got to go inside the cooler and freezer to see the "behind the scenes" of stocking those products. Did you know that Kwik Trip headquarters is in Onalaska, WI? The headquarter services ALL of the Kwik Trips throughout the midwest. Did you also know that Kwik Trip produces their own gallon jugs of milk? It is bottled and on the shelves in two days of them receiving it from the farmers!
We hope that you are prepared for a fun-filled time at S.E.E.K. this year, as we will be operating the SEEK store as well as developing and selling some of our own product ideas.
Your “homework” assignment for the next couple of weeks, before we see each other on June 11th, is to think of a few ideas that our “business” can develop, market, and sell. While you are thinking of these ideas, please write down the supplies that we would need to make the product and any ideas that you would have for marketing (promoting) the product.
On the first day, please bring the following to class: your idea sheet, a pencil and a spiral notebook to write other ideas in. We will provide you with a binder for our time together, that way we will all stay organized and have our business materials all in one place! Also, as “business owners”, we would like to see a smile and a positive attitude each day!!!
Parents, during the days of Project S.E.E.K., check out the S.E.E.K. website for updates on how our class is progressing AND pictures of our production time. Bonus, you will also be able to view other classes and read about what they are doing during the 12 days we are all together.
Until June 11th, make the most out of the school time you have left! If you have further questions, please contact us by phone/text at (218) 380-7251 or by
email at pcampbell@isd2144.org OR gogogmas@gmail.com.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Campbell and Mrs. Spray
Every year our class chooses one (or two) charities to support with a percentage of our profits! This year our team has selected Children's Hospital and Cancer Research Center, where we will donate 8% to each of those charities. We will have a donation jar at Open House next week for customers to give additional funds to both of those charities if they so choose to do so.
