Quality Assurance Mechanisms at GCIT under the Royal University of Bhutan
GCIT, as a constituent college of RUB, aligns its academic and administrative operations with RUB’s comprehensive quality assurance frameworks. The following outlines the systems in place addressing key quality assurance indicators:
7.1.1 Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) Policy in Place
GCIT’s Strategic Plan 2019–2030 emphasizes strengthening internal quality assurance and enhancement systems under Theme 1: Enhancement of Quality and Relevance of Programmes.
RUB’s Wheel of Academic Law provides a structured IQA policy framework, including validation (F1), quality criteria (F3), and programme management (F6), which GCIT adheres to.
7.1.2 IQA Monitoring and Evaluation Mechanism in Place
GCIT follows established quality monitoring through institutional structures such as the Programme and Quality Committee (PQC) and Programme Board of Examiners, as mandated by RUB’s Governance Manual.
The Wheel of Academic Law outlines annual programme monitoring (F2), critical self-appraisals (F4), and periodic reviews (F5), ensuring consistent and systematic evaluation of academic offerings.
7.1.3 Feedback System in Place
A formal student feedback system is in place through Student Module Evaluations (Section D3) as part of the Wheel of Academic Law, which ensures student voices contribute to teaching and curriculum development.
The Annual Report 2023–2024 from RUB further documents the use of feedback from students and stakeholders to guide institutional improvements across its colleges.
