From the Desk of Principal Moton
Dear parents, students, and school community:
The final week of the 2023 portion of the school year is here. All assignments for the first semester will be closed prior to Winter Break, so make sure you check your list and check it twice!
We have much to be proud of as we prepare to step away for the holiday break. I encourage you to continue to look out for each other as the break represents so many things to so many people. While for some of us, this time of the year is joyous, but for others, it is tough in absence of loved ones and families. Let us be reminded of our interconnectedness as a school family and lean on each other at all times. On that note, I am happy to report that 7th grade ELA teacher Ms. Sifford, who suffered injury due to an unfortunate accident while supervising our Gators at lunch, is on the mend and extends her thanks to the children that immediately rushed to her aid to dust her off when she fell, the ones who took a moment to pray for her as she was helped inside, and the many, many students and families that have extended their well-wishes to her while she is out during her recovery. That's the beautiful thing about our school community; when someone falls down, the rest of us rally hard to lift them right back up!
Let's finish up 2023 with some fun, courtesy of the Student Council! If you make an honest attempt to participate in the Holiday Spirit Week, we are not requiring dress code bottoms. HOWEVER, please be sure to adhere to appropriate length and fit guidelines and reserve the pajama pants for Friday!
From all of us at Dutchman Creek, have the happiest of holidays and if we don't see you soon, we will see you later, Gators! Make each day count! GOOOOOOOOOOO GATORS!
Yours in service,
Principal Clayton B. Moton
