This Week at Dutchman Creek!

Week of 11-20-2023

Let's all be the "I" in KIND!

From the Desk of Principal Moton

Dear parents, students, and school community:

My mom and dad taught me at an early age that you do not have to be the smartest or wealthiest person in the world to make an impact: just be kind to others consistently. It is a lesson that has guided my life and career and that my wife and I have passed on to our two sons. Tomorrow, November 13, is World Kindness Day and to raise awareness for the need to be kind CONSISTENTLY, Gator Nation is encouraged to wear Gator Green from head to toe. More importantly, let us be reminded that kindness is a 24/7 - 365 thing...not just once a year! If you can't be anything else in this world, be kind...consistently!

We are looking to maintain the momentum built through Quarter 1 into the second quarter of the year. To respond to the need for students to have extra time to complete essential assignments, we will begin offering Gator I Can University (ICU) during lunch. This will allow teachers to ensure that students who need to complete essential assignments are given the time and space to do so, which will allow teachers to better determine which students have mastered the content standard of focus and which students need additional instruction. You can help by consistently monitoring Canvas and advising the school if there are circumstances that may interfere with your child's ability to complete their assignments. We will respond to your needs accordingly.

Other celebrations and events include our DCMS SIC Meeting at 5 pm on Tuesday, Education Support Professionals Day on Wednesday, Substitute Teacher Appreciation Day on Friday and the DCMS Drama presentation of The Trial of Goldilocks! on Friday and Saturday at 7 pm each night!

Enjoy this week's newsletter and let's all have a great week! GOOOOOOOOOOO GATORS!

Yours in service,

Principal Clayton B. Moton
