Outreach Programmes 2025-26

A beach clean-up drive was organized at Suruchi Beach on 22.11.2025 for the F.Y.B.Ed students to promote cleanliness and environmental awareness. Mr. Lisbon Ferrao and Zsuzsanna Ferrao a passionate advocate for beach cleanliness, led the initiative. The drive in the morning with a brief introduction about the importance of keeping beaches free from plastic and other waste. Participants collected plastic bottles, wrappers, glass pieces, and other litter using gloves and garbage bags. The waste was segregated for proper disposal and recycling. Awareness messages were shared with visitors, encouraging them to avoid littering and protect marine life. The event highlighted the importance of community participation in conserving nature. Everyone worked together with great enthusiasm and dedication.The clean-up campaign was a great success and inspired everyone to adopt eco-friendly habits. It reminded us that small efforts can make a big difference in protecting our environment.

AIDS is a public health issue and solidarity in the face of this issue is significant. On 1 Dec 2025, students participated in a rally wherein they created general awareness about AIDS and the precautions to be taken to avoid getting infected by HIV. Slogans were raised to generate  awareness.The rally aimed at raising awareness about HIV/AIDS, advocating for better healthcare access, and reducing the stigma surrounding the disease.

The F.Y.B.Ed. students of the 2025-2027 batch undertook visits to various community centres in Vasai and its surrounding suburbs as part of their community engagement programme. Each student completed a total of 10 hours of service at the allotted centres. During their visits, they planned and conducted a variety of educational, recreational, and interactive activities. They engaged children through meaningful games, creative exercises, and fun-filled learning experiences that encouraged participation and teamwork. Visits to old-age homes provided students with an opportunity to interact with senior citizens and gain a deeper understanding of their needs and challenges. These experiences fostered empathy, compassion, and a sense of social responsibility among the student teachers. The students participated enthusiastically in all the planned activities and worked with dedication throughout the programme. The community visits proved to be a valuable learning experience, leaving the students with positive memories and meaningful insights into the importance of serving society.

The F.Y.B.Ed. students of the 2025-2027 batch participated in a Community Teaching Initiative to provide academic support to school children from their local communities. The students planned and conducted one-on-one teaching sessions, focusing on basic grammar, writing skills, and fundamental arithmetic operations. Some students also introduced children to basic art and computer skills, making the learning process engaging and interactive. Several student teachers extended their support to the children of domestic helpers, maids, watchmen, and other underprivileged families, ensuring that quality learning opportunities reached those in need. This initiative offered the student teachers valuable first-hand classroom experience and strengthened their teaching and communication skills. It also helped them develop empathy and a deeper understanding of the educational challenges faced by less privileged children. The programme instilled a sense of social responsibility, gratitude, and compassion among the students.

The F.Y.B.Ed. students of the 2025-2027 batch visited Dr. Shirishkar's Kinjal Charitable Trust, a home for elderly members of the community. For many students, it was their first opportunity to interact closely with senior citizens and understand their lives. To make the visit enjoyable, the students organized simple recreational activities such as Housie and Dumb Charades. Ms. Latisha and Sarah also entertained the residents with lively action songs, bringing joy and energy to the gathering. The visit proved to be a deeply moving experience, as the students spent the entire day with the elderly, listening to their inspiring life stories and words of wisdom. The interaction created meaningful connections, leaving both the residents and the students with cherished memories of a memorable day.

The S.Y.B.Ed. students visited St. Elizabeth Convent School to assist the schoolgirls with their homework and daily learning activities. They organized and conducted a variety of educational activities tailored to different age groups and grade levels. The students taught basic grammar concepts and simple mathematical operations to strengthen the learners' foundational skills. They also conducted a session on basic digital literacy, introducing the girls to essential computer and technology skills. In addition, they emphasized the importance of sanitation and personal hygiene, creating awareness about healthy habits and overall well-being. The visit proved to be a meaningful and enriching experience for the S.Y.B.Ed. students, allowing them to contribute to the community while enhancing their own teaching and interpersonal skills.

The students of S.Y.B.Ed of the batch 2024-26 visited Dr. Shirishkar’s Kinjal Charitable trust which is a home for the aged people of the society. It was a first time experience of visiting the aged and ailing people for many students. They planned for simple games like housie, dumb charades etc. Our students Fr. Akhil and Warner performed action songs for them. Indeed they added a spring of colours into their lives. It was indeed an emotional experience for the students as they spent their entire day for the old people at Kinjal who shared their words of wisdom with the students. The students left the organization with happy memories for the day.

The S.Y.B.Ed. students visited an old age home and organized a series of engaging and wellness-oriented activities for the elderly residents. The visit began with a guided meditation session to promote relaxation, inner peace, and mental well-being. The students also sang melodious songs, creating a cheerful and nostalgic atmosphere that encouraged active participation. To foster social interaction and enjoyment, they conducted simple recreational games that brought smiles and enthusiasm among the residents. Additionally, the students delivered an informative session on the importance of regular physical exercise, highlighting how gentle physical activities can improve mobility, overall health, and quality of life in old age. The visit was a heartwarming and enriching experience for both the students and the residents, strengthening the values of empathy, care, and community service.

The S.Y.B.Ed. students visited the Handmaids of the Blessed Trinity Orphanage and organized a variety of interactive and educational activities for the children. They engaged the children through storytelling, singing, creative games, and fun learning exercises that encouraged participation and teamwork. The students also conducted motivational and value-based sessions to promote confidence, kindness, and positive attitudes. Through these activities, they created a joyful and supportive environment that fostered learning and meaningful interaction. The visit was a rewarding experience for the S.Y.B.Ed. students, enabling them to develop empathy, social responsibility, and practical teaching skills while making a positive contribution to the lives of the children.

A Plastic Waste Collection Drive was organized in our college on 23rd February 2026 in collaboration with the Save the Earth Foundation. Mr. Santosh Kakad from the foundation visited the college to conduct the drive and interact with the students. A month before the event, students were instructed to collect and clean empty plastic bottles, cartons, wrappers, and boxes generated in their daily lives. On the day of the drive, students enthusiastically brought the collected plastic waste to the college. Mr. Kakad delivered an informative talk on the importance of reducing, reusing, and recycling plastic waste. He explained how the foundation converts discarded plastic into useful products such as tiles, handbags, and decorative items. He also shared practical tips on reducing plastic consumption by adopting eco-friendly alternatives. The students actively participated in the initiative and appreciated the importance of responsible waste management. The drive was a great success and inspired everyone to contribute towards environmental conservation. The event strengthened the students' commitment to sustainable living and protecting the environment.

The students of S.Y.B.Ed of the batch 2025-2027 visited Umang Special School, to celebrate Autistic Pride Day organized by Pushpanjali College of Education. The day began with a prayer service conducted by the S.Y.B.Ed. students. Our students planned for action songs and group performances. The day was full of activities and engaging games for the special children. It was meaningful and enriching experience that fostered empathy, understanding and deeper commitment to inclusive education.

Tree PA Tree Plantation Drive was conducted at Pushpanjali College of Education on 19 June 2026.The activity was organized to promote environmental awareness and conservation. Students and faculty members actively participated in planting saplings on the college campus. The participants learned about the importance of trees and maintaining a green environment. The activity promoted values such as teamwork, responsibility, and care for nature. The drive was successfully conducted and contributed towards creating a greener campus. lantation Drive
