Poster making Competition on the occasion of Van Mahotsav

Pushpanjali College of Education organized a Poster Making Competition on 11th July 2026 on the occasion of Van Mahotsav. Student-teachers participated enthusiastically and created creative posters highlighting the importance of trees, forests, biodiversity, and environmental conservation. The activity helped develop environmental awareness and encouraged students to promote the message of protecting and preserving nature.

Tree plantation Drive on the occasion of Van Mahotsav

Pushpanjali College of Education organized a Tree Plantation Drive on 10 July 2026 on the occasion of Van Mahotsav. The student-teachers actively participated in the drive and planted various saplings, including banana plants and other varieties, in the area at the backside of the college. The activity aimed to promote environmental awareness, encourage care for nature, and inspire students to contribute towards a greener and healthier environment.

Plastic Waste Collection Drive: Save the Earth Foundation

As a part of the activities of the Vasundhara Club, a Plastic Waste Collection Drive was conducted on 23rd February 2026 in Pushpanjali College of Education in collaboration with the Save the Earth Foundation for the students of F.Y.B.Ed. The activity aimed to create awareness about plastic waste management and promote environmentally responsible practices among students. During the programme, Mr. Santosh Kakad interacted with the students and shared valuable insights on the recycling process adopted by the foundation. He explained how plastic waste and other discarded materials are recycled and transformed into useful products such as tiles and other eco-friendly items. He also emphasized the importance of proper waste segregation and encouraged students to collect plastic waste from their homes and surroundings and contribute it to the foundation for recycling. It was an enriching experience that strengthened students’ commitment towards sustainable living and environmental conservation.

Swachata Hi Sewa Campaign from 17th September to 2nd October 

On the occasion of International Coastal Cleanliness Day, the S.Y.B.Ed students from Pushpanjali College of Education, accompanied by Ms. Steffi Colaco, faculty member, actively participated in a beach clean-up drive at Suruchi Beach. The initiative was organized by Vasai Virar Shahar Mahanagar Palika in collaboration with Make a Difference, a dedicated NGO working towards environmental protection The event was graced by the chief guest, Mr. M.M. Suryavanshi, Ayukt of Vasai Virar Mahanagar Palika, who addressed the gathering and emphasized the importance of coastal cleanliness. Various local organisations, including NGOs, Mahila Bhachat Kendra, and students from different schools and colleges, came together to support the cause. Volunteers were divided into specific zones for the beach cleanliness drive. The students from Pushpanjali College were assigned Zone 4, where they enthusiastically took part in segregating and collecting plastic waste, contributing meaningfully to the cleanliness of the coastline. To ensure the safety and hygiene of all participants, the organisers provided T-shirts, masks, gloves, and sanitisers.

Tree Plantation Drive on the occasion of World Environment Day

On the occasion of World Environment Day, a Tree Plantation Drive was organized on 19th June 2026 as a part of the activities of the Vasundhara Club. The F.Y.B.Ed. students of Pushpanjali College of Education actively participated in the programme and planted various saplings in the backyard ground of the college. The students planted a variety of plants, including mango, papaya, banana, and flowering plants, with the aim of promoting greenery and environmental sustainability. The activity emphasized the importance of tree plantation in maintaining ecological balance, improving air quality, and conserving the environment. Through this initiative, students were encouraged to develop a sense of responsibility towards nature and to contribute actively to environmental conservation.

Tree Plantation in Schools: Students of S.Y.B.Ed

As a part of the Vasundhara Club activities, the S.Y.B.Ed. students of Pushpanjali College of Education undertook a Tree Plantation Drive in the schools on 11th September 2025 where they were placed for internship. The students actively participated in planting saplings within the school premises and encouraged school students to take responsibility for nurturing and protecting the plants. The activity aimed to promote environmental awareness and instill the importance of afforestation among young learners. Through this initiative, the student teachers conveyed the message of conserving nature and creating a greener and healthier environment. The Tree Plantation Drive served as a meaningful step towards fostering environmental responsibility and sustainable living among the school community.

Van Mohotsav: Van Mahotsav Celebration 

Date: 1 July to 7 July 2025

As part of the Van Mahotsav celebration, a special assembly was conducted by Ms. Joyleen Gonsalves, who delivered an insightful talk on environmental awareness. She emphasized the urgent need to protect our natural resources and highlighted the crucial role trees play in maintaining ecological balance. She encouraged students to adopt sustainable practices in their daily lives and become responsible stewards of the environment. Her message left a lasting impact, reminding everyone that even small efforts like planting a tree or reducing plastic use can contribute to a healthier planet.

Rally to create awareness of Tree plantation: As part of the Van Mahotsav celebrations, a rally to create awareness about tree plantation was conducted on the campus of Our Lady of Grace Convent. Students enthusiastically participated, holding banners and chanting slogans like "Plant trees, save Earth" and "Each one, plant one". The rally aimed to spread the message of environmental conservation and highlight the importance of increasing green cover. It inspired not only the participants but also the onlookers to take action in preserving nature. The event was a powerful reminder that collective efforts can lead to meaningful change for a greener future.

A Plastic Waste Collection Drive was organized in collaboration with the Save the Earth Foundation, with enthusiastic participation from F.Y.B.Ed and S.Y.B.Ed students. Students were informed one month in advance to begin collecting used plastic from their homes and surroundings. On the scheduled day, the collected plastic waste was brought to the college for further processing and awareness activities. The session was led by Mr. Santosh Kakad, a resource person from the foundation, who shared valuable information on how plastic waste can be recycled and transformed into eco-friendly products like tiles. He also displayed sample tiles made from recycled plastic, which impressed and educated the students about innovative recycling methods. The drive not only promoted the importance of reducing plastic pollution but also encouraged students to adopt sustainable and responsible environmental practices.

Tree Plantation in Schools by Our B.Ed students

As part of the internship activities, students of S.Y.B.Ed actively participated in a tree plantation drive in their respective internship schools. This initiative aimed to promote environmental sustainability and encourage ecological responsibility among school students. In addition to planting saplings within the school premises, the B.Ed students also conducted an awareness seminar on the importance of tree plantation. The seminar covered key topics such as the role of trees in maintaining ecological balance, combating climate change, improving air quality, and conserving biodiversity. Through interactive sessions, posters, and discussions, students highlighted the urgent need for afforestation and inspired school children and staff to contribute towards a greener future. This activity not only enriched the school environment but also fostered a sense of environmental stewardship among all participants.

Van Mahotsav, Forest Festival Week was observed from 1 to 7 July 2024. Special assemblies highlighting the significance of Vanmahotsav and the contribution of eco warriors were organised with Ms Naomi Dias leading the same.  The week culminated in a  tree plantation drive  and an awareness session held on 7 July 2024.
