Outreach Programmes 2021-22

Working with NGO Dhyaas Foundation

Students generated awareness in their neighbourhoods and urged people not to discard plastic carelessly. They also encouraged use of paper or cloth bags to eliminate the use of plastic carry bags. At times use of plastic is unavoidable as much of packaged goods come in plastic packaging. Students collected such material and also reusable household waste items and deposited them at various collection centres between Feb to March 2022.

Each One Teach One  remedial programme 

Due to the pandemic many students had lagged behind in their studies. They needed help to cope with the same.  F. Y. B.Ed students undertook teaching and coaching of school/college students. During this activity student teachers guided and helped one each student in the studies.            


Beach Cleaning activity

On 11th and 27th March 2022, beach cleaning activity was organized in collaboration with Leo Club of Vasai Pearls on Benapatti beach. A short seminar by Lisbon Ferrao on mangroves preservation helped students to get acquainted with the mangrove ecology and its importance to coastal regions. 36 big bags of solid waste which was segregated as glass, chappals, Thermocol and plastics were deposited through the Leo Club of Vasai Pearls. College arranged for the collection of the waste through Vasai Virar Municipal Corporation(VVMC).  

Eradicate Malnutrition -Donation of Pulses and Grocery Items

On 16th March 2022 pulses, grains and old toys were collected in college for people of Mokhada Village, Palghar, as they lacked these necessities. This activity was organized in collaboration with Sandor Sports Club. The food grains donated by the students and faculty was handed over to the volunteers from the club to be distributed in rural regions of Palghar district.

Safe  Disposal of Plastic Waste

On 12th April 2022, Shri Santosh Kakad and Mrs Sharvari Kalgutkar of the NGO Save the Earth Foundation interacted with students and urged them to dispose off solid waste particularly plastic carefully. They also showed the reusable materials made out of plastic. Students collected plastic stuff at their homes and from the neighbourhood.  On 23rd April 2022 this waste was collected by the NGO.

Rendering Service at a Community Centre-UMED

Umed is a non-profit organisation dedicated to empowering people with disabilities. Six volunteers from the college opted to serve at UMED. They worked with the differently abled individuals. They had a truly unique and meaningful experience as they helped the inmates in their empowerment. They also contributed by washing the racks, weeding the garden, sticking the envelopes, packaging etc.
