Teachers’ Day was celebrated with the theme ‘Teachers: A Timeless Gift’ to honor the invaluable contributions of teachers. The program began with a heartfelt welcome and expressions of gratitude for the teachers, dedication and guidance. The students presented a creative skit that highlighted the profound influence of teachers in shaping lives and nurturing future generations. Following this, engaging games were organized, adding joy and enthusiasm to the occasion. Vibrant dance performances by the students added a lively touch, making the celebration more memorable. The day was a beautiful blend of entertainment, and appreciation, leaving both students and teachers with cherished memories of this special occasion.

Hindi Divas was celebrated with enthusiasm, underscoring the importance of the Hindi language in uniting diverse cultures across India. The event conducted by the S.Y. students began with a special assembly highlighting the historical significance of Hindi and its role as a symbol of national pride and identity. A quiz competition was conducted, engaging students in an interactive and enjoyable way to test their knowledge of Hindi literature, grammar, and prominent authors. The activity encouraged participants to deepen their appreciation and understanding of the language.

Ganesh Chaturthi was celebrated with devotion and enthusiasm which began with a short assembly by the S.Y. students highlighting the significance of Lord Ganesha, the remover of obstacles and harbinger of wisdom and prosperity. A video depicting the story of Lord Ganesha’s birth and his prominence in Hindu culture was shown, enriching the audience's understanding of this beloved deity. The celebration also emphasized environmental consciousness with an eco-friendly Ganesha idol-making competition. Students showcased their creativity and dedication by crafting idols using sustainable materials, promoting a message of harmony with nature.

The college celebrated Pushpanjali Day with devotion and enthusiasm, honoring the feast of St. Thérèse of Lisieux, fondly known as ‘The Little Flower’, the patroness of the institution. The occasion was marked by a special assembly dedicated to the life and teachings of St. Thérèse. Students presented a poignant enactment of her life story, highlighting her journey of faith, humility, and dedication to God through her little way of love and selflessness. The performance brought to light her enduring legacy as a model of simplicity and devotion.

Gandhi Jayanti was celebrated with a heartfelt assembly by Ms Neyomie Almeida commemorating the 154th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. The program began with a serene prayer service, emphasizing Gandhiji's values of peace and nonviolence. The significance of the day was further highlighted through inspiring speeches about Gandhiji's role in India's freedom struggle and his enduring legacy. A video presentation on his life and teachings provided deeper insights into his philosophy and its relevance today. The assembly concluded with a pledge to uphold Gandhian values in daily life, leaving students and staff inspired by the spirit of the Mahatma.

The Dussehra assembly conducted by the S.Y. students was a meaningful event that highlighted the cultural and spiritual significance of the festival, emphasizing the triumph of good over evil. Students presented the story of Lord Rama's victory over Ravana and explored the symbolism of Dussehra in various parts of India, showcasing the diversity of its celebration. A quiz based on Dussehra traditions, mythology, and cultural practices was conducted, engaging the audience and fostering a deeper understanding of the festival. The assembly combined tradition and education, leaving students inspired by the values of courage and righteousness.

The Diwali celebration was a vibrant and informative event that highlighted the significance of each of the festival's four days. Students presented detailed explanations, supported by engaging videos that enhanced the understanding of the cultural and spiritual aspects of Diwali.

To celebrate the festive spirit, competitions such as rangoli making, lantern decoration, and diya decoration were organized, showcasing the creativity and enthusiasm of participants. Adding to the festive fervor, the S.Y.B.Ed students hosted a delightful food festival featuring dishes from various cultures, symbolizing unity in diversity. The assembly and events were appreciated for their blend of tradition, creativity, and inclusivity, making the Diwali celebrations memorable and enriching.

World AIDS Day was observed with an engaging assembly aimed at fostering awareness about HIV/AIDS. It included insightful information, a video presentation further emphasized the importance of education, prevention, and support for individuals living with HIV/AIDS and also took a pledge to work toward ending the stigma associated with AIDS and promoting inclusivity. Following the assembly, F.Y and S.Y. students and the staff joined a rally in collaboration with neighbouring institutions. They carried banners and chanted slogans, spreading the message of empathy and health awareness in the community. 

The F.Y. students showcased their diverse range of talents during the Talent Search Programme. The event commenced with an engaging presentation emphasizing the importance of identifying and utilizing one’s potential to its fullest. The students impressed everyone with their creativity and skills, displaying art work, culinary delights, nail art, mehendi designs, etc. Some students also displayed their abilities through singing and dance performances. Principal Sr. Delicia and the faculty commended the participants for their hard work, innovative ideas, and vibrant energy, making the Talent Display a memorable celebration of creativity and expression.

The Investiture Ceremony of the Student Council for 2023-25 batch was conducted with enthusiasm and dignity, marking the formal induction of the FY students into various leadership roles. The Council members took their oath and received their badges from Principal Sr Delicia. The Student Council of the batch of 2022-24 conducted the assembly on the theme ‘Rainbow Colours’ and Fr Alex Simon addressed the newly formed Student Council highlighting the significant role the Council plays in the smooth working of the college. The Sports Meet was held with great enthusiasm and spirit of camaraderie, marking a day of friendly competition and celebration. The event was graced by the presence of respected Manager Sr. Sharlet Xavier, Principal Sr. Delicia Fernandes, and Chief Guest Mr. Pradeep Dias, an esteemed alumnus of the college. The ceremony began with the lighting of the lamp, an important ritual symbolizing the commencement of the event. A prayer, led by Ms Riya Lopes, invoked divine blessings for the participants. Mr. Pradeep Dias, the Chief Guest, also an ex-student of the college, shared his inspiring journey with the students and also encouraged the students to embrace sportsmanship and discipline in their athletic endeavors. The sports events kicked off with various exciting races and games, including the Running Race, Shot Put, Marble and Spoon Race, Potato Race, and Relay Races. Overall, the Sports Day at Pushpanjali College of Education was a memorable event that brought together students, faculty, and staff in the spirit of sportsmanship and fun.

National Mathematics Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm to honor the legacy of the mathematical genius Srinivasa Ramanujan. The event began with an enlightening talk about Ramanujan's life, his extraordinary contributions to mathematics, and his journey as a self-taught mathematician who profoundly impacted the field globally. An engaging game - Fun with Maths was conducted, which encouraged students to solve mathematical puzzles and riddles. This interactive activity not only showcased the practical applications of mathematical concepts but also fostered a sense of excitement and curiosity about the subject among everyone. 

The students and staff resonated with joy and festive cheer as the Christmas celebration brought together to mark the spirit of love and togetherness. The event commenced with a beautifully presented tableau that depicted the Nativity story, showcasing the birth of Jesus Christ and the timeless message of love and hope. A lively carol singing competition followed, judged by distinguished ex-students, who were delighted to witness the enthusiasm and melodious performances. The competition showcased a variety of traditional and modern carols, filling the atmosphere with warmth and holiday spirit. Adding to the creative charm, a Christmas decoration and ornament-making competition was also conducted. Students displayed their artistic skills, crafting intricate ornaments and decorations that reflected the essence of the season.

A session was conducted by Ms Melisa Rodrigues which began with an informative session highlighting the significance of Braille in empowering visually impaired individuals by providing them access to education, literature, and independence. The life and achievements of Louis Braille were shared, inspiring the audience with his dedication to creating a system that revolutionized communication for the blind. Interactive activities included a demonstration of how Braille works, with participants attempting to read Braille texts and experience its utility firsthand. The event concluded with a collective reflection on the need for promoting inclusivity and ensuring equal opportunities for all. 

World Hindi Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm to honor the global significance of the Hindi language and its rich cultural heritage. The event conducted by Ms Kushika began with an introduction to the importance of Hindi as a unifying force in India and its growing recognition internationally. A thought-provoking enactment by the students highlighted the evolution and impact of Hindi literature. To add an element of fun, an interactive Hindi-themed game was conducted. The celebration concluded with a message encouraging the use of Hindi in daily communication while appreciating its global significance, leaving the participants with a renewed sense of pride in their linguistic heritage. 

Makar Sankranti was celebrated with great enthusiasm, highlighting the rich cultural diversity of the festival across India. The program brought to life the various traditions and customs associated with the festival as practiced in different regions of the country. Through a mix of enactments, dance performances, and narrations, students of F.Y. depicted how Makar Sankranti is celebrated, emphasizing the universal themes of gratitude, harvest, and community. From kite flying and sweet exchanges in the north to traditional rituals like Pongal in the south, and from bonfires and feasts in the east to vibrant folk dances in the west, the festival’s essence was beautifully captured. The performances showcased the unity in diversity of Indian culture, as well as the joy and significance of the harvest season. 

Republic Day was observed on 26th January along with the other institutions run by the management. The significance of the day was highlighted through songs, dances and speeches. On 25th January, Ms Bliss Dsouza conducted an assembly instilling a sense of unity and pride among all present. To engage students further, two competitions were conducted, Poster Making and Essay Writing. The celebrations reflected the spirit of democracy and unity, leaving everyone with a renewed sense of patriotism and commitment to the nation. 

A street play workshop was conducted in the college, facilitated by Mr. Juran Lopes and Mr. Maxwell Rose. The interactive session aimed to introduce students to the art of street theatre as a powerful medium for social change and awareness. The facilitators demonstrated key techniques, including voice modulation, body language, and improvisation, to captivate audiences effectively. Students were guided through exercises that enhanced their confidence, teamwork, and creativity. The participants then collaborated to script and perform short street plays on contemporary social issues. The hands-on experience provided them with valuable insights into the dynamics of street theatre and its role in addressing societal challenges. The workshop concluded with a feedback session, where students shared their experiences and expressed their enthusiasm to implement the skills learned.

The Degree Distribution Ceremony for the Batch of 2020-2022 was held with dignity and pride. Chief Guest Sr. Sharlet Xavier and Guests of Honour Ms. Angelina Nunes and Ms. Mabel Pimenta graced the occasion. The event began with a prayer service, Degrees were then distributed to the graduates, recognizing their dedication and achievements, followed by inspiring speeches from the dignitaries, who emphasized the importance of hard work, community service, and lifelong learning. The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks, celebrating a milestone moment for the graduates as they prepared to embark on new journeys.

Marathi Bhasha Diwas was celebrated with a spirited event that highlighted the rich heritage and literary legacy of the Marathi language. The program began with an introduction to the significance of this day. A lively cultural segment followed, where students performed a traditional Marathi dance, celebrating the vibrancy of Marathi folk music and dance forms. The performance beautifully showcased the cultural depth and artistic expressions native to Maharashtra. The event served as an inspiring tribute to the Marathi language, encouraging students to value and preserve their linguistic heritage.

On National Science Day, an assembly was conducted by the Eureka Science Club which began with an introduction to the life and work of Dr. C.V. Raman, whose groundbreaking discovery of the Raman Effect earned him a Nobel Prize and inspired this annual observance. This year’s theme, “Indigenous Technologies for Viksit Bharat,” was discussed in depth, emphasizing the role of locally developed technologies in building a prosperous and self-reliant India. The session also delved into the relationship between science and culture, highlighting how scientific advancements are woven into India’s heritage. A special segment was dedicated to celebrating the contributions of Indian scientists, showcasing their pioneering work in various fields. To engage students, a quiz was conducted. Additionally, a skit was performed to promote a scientific temperament. The event was both informative and inspirational, underscoring the importance of science and innovation.

International Women's Day was celebrated with enthusiasm, embracing the 2024 theme, ‘Empowering Change through Equality’. This theme highlighted the importance of achieving gender equality by empowering women across all sectors, fostering an inclusive environment where everyone can thrive. To honor the theme, F.Y. students participated in a Film Review Competition, selecting films that showcased inspiring women and gender-related issues, sparking thoughtful discussions on representation and empowerment. Meanwhile, S.Y. students showcased their analytical skills in a Book Review Competition, presenting reviews of impactful books by or about influential women.

A World Water Day assembly was conducted by the students of S.Y. in order to highlight the importance of water conservation and the global theme for 2024, ‘Leveraging Water for Peace.’ This year’s focus emphasizes water as a key element in fostering global peace, cooperation, and sustainable management across borders. The assembly began with an educational session that explored the critical role of water as a resource. Students then participated in an activity that demonstrated efficient water usage practices. To reinforce commitment all the students and staff took a pledge to conserve water, respect natural resources, and advocate for sustainable water practices in their communities. 

A vibrant assembly was conducted by Ms Astha Pandey to celebrate Holi, the festival of colors, spreading joy and unity among students and staff. The assembly opened with a brief introduction to the significance of Holi, emphasizing its cultural roots and symbolic themes of victory of good over evil, forgiveness, and renewal. A video showcased the legend of Holika Dahan, narrating the story behind the festival and its moral lesson on the triumph of righteousness. This was followed by a beautiful presentation on the different ways Holi is celebrated across India, highlighting regional traditions and the festival’s unifying power. The assembly concluded with a call for safe and eco-friendly celebrations, encouraging everyone to respect nature.

Gudi Padwa is a spring festival marking the new year of lunisolar calendar for

Marathi and Konkani Hindus. The assembly was conducted by Ms. Kushika Upadhyay and Ms. Bliss D’Souza. The assembly began with a prayer led by Ms Kushika Upadhyay followed by a prayerful hymn. Kushika gave brief information about the significance of the day and also shared the three major reasons behind the celebration of Gudi Padwa. An informative video on Gudi Padwa was also shared with our audience. Later on, Ms Bliss D’Souza introduced how people all over the country celebrate in their own unique ways. Importance of each and every element used in making ‘gudi’ was explained by Bliss in detail. Ms Bliss also explained about Ugadi and Yugadi in detail.

World English Day, also known as English Language Day, is celebrated every year on April 23 to commemorate the birth and death anniversary of the English playwright and poet William Shakespeare. The students of English pedagogy under the mentorship of Sr Delicia Fernandes, hosted a special programme to highlight the significance of the English language, its global influence, and its role in communication, education, and culture. The celebration began with a brief presentation on the origin and evolution of the English language. A special segment of the event featured a poetry reading, where students recited poems that showcased the beauty and power of the English language. To add a fun and engaging element to the celebration, a language activity was organized, where students participated a in word game.

World Earth Day was celebrated and led by Ms Naomi Dias to spread awareness about environmental issues and encouraging sustainable practices. This year's focus was on the theme "Planet vs Plastic," highlighting the importance of tackling plastic pollution. Earth Day also reminds of the challenges our planet faces, like climate change and pollution The theme "Planet vs Plastic" for this year was discussed. Further strategies were explored for reaching the "60/40 goal" - a 60% reduction in plastic production by 2040. The assembly was concluded by urging everyone to take action against plastic pollution not just on Earth Day, but every day. 

The Degree Distribution Ceremony for the graduating batch of 2021-23 was held in a formal and dignified event. The ceremony marked a significant milestone for the graduating students, celebrating their hard work and dedication. The ceremony was graced by the presence of Chief Guest Dr. Somnath Vibhute, a distinguished academic expert, who inspired the graduates with his insightful address. Sister Sharlet Xavier, the manager and the Guest of Honor, shared her words of encouragement and congratulated the students on their achievements, urging them to carry forward the values and knowledge gained during their time at the institution. The event proceeded with the formal distribution of degrees, with each graduate receiving their diploma on stage, symbolizing their readiness to embark on new journeys.

An assembly was held by Ms Uzma Shaikh to commemorate National Technology Day, celebrating India’s advancements in science and technology. The history of National Technology Day, which marks the anniversary of the Pokhran-II nuclear tests in 1998 and highlights India's achievements in technology was discussed. There was emphasize on the importance of technology in today’s world, discussing how innovations in fields like AI, renewable energy, and biotechnology are transforming lives and industries, etc. The assembly concluded with a call to action, encouraging students to embrace innovation and problem-solving to contribute to future advancements. National Technology Day served as a motivating reminder of the role of technology in shaping a brighter future for the nation.

On International Yoga Day, an assembly was conducted to celebrate and emphasize the importance of yoga in daily life. The event began with an introductory session highlighting yoga’s benefits for physical health, mental well-being, and spiritual growth. Students and staff participated in basic yoga exercises, experiencing firsthand the calming and energizing effects of the practice. As a special addition, a yoga workshop was organized, featuring Ms. Riya D’Cunha, an alumna and certified yoga trainer. Ms. D’Cunha demonstrated a range of yoga positions, explaining their health benefits and guiding participants through correct postures and breathing techniques. Her expertise and interactive approach inspired students to incorporate yoga into their routines.

As part of Van Mahotsav celebrations, a session was held to honor the remarkable contributions of environmental champions across India. The presentation highlighted individuals like Deepak Gaur, the “Tree Man” of Gurgaon; Jadav Payeng, the “Forest Man of India”; Kapil Sharma, co-founder of SayTrees, an NGO focused on urban greening; and Pamela and Anil Malhotra, founders of Sai Sanctuary. These stories underscored the power of individual dedication to conservation, leaving students inspired to take their own small steps toward a greener future. The event concluded with a reminder that each of us can contribute to environmental preservation. In addition to this, students participated in a tree-planting activity, symbolizing their dedication to protecting the environment. To further spread awareness, students carried boards and charts with messages about the importance of conservation, aiming to inspire others to take small but impactful actions for a greene

The assembly commenced with a profound quote on the significance of a Guru. A prayer was offered, expressing gratitude for the wisdom imparted by teachers. An explanation was provided about Guru Purnima, emphasizing its cultural and spiritual importance. Further, Ms Kushika Upadhyay and Ms Bliss Dsouza performed a short skit illustrating the invaluable role of a guru in lives. The assembly continued with a heartfelt tribute to the teachers. Students expressed their deep gratitude for the dedication, wisdom, and compassion of their teachers. Ms. Kushika Upadhyay recited a poem dedicated to Guru Purnima.

Ms. Shoral conducted an insightful session on the Indian education system, highlighting its vast scale with 14.9 lakh schools, 95 lakh teachers, and 26.5 crore students. She discussed the Performance Grading Indicator (PGI), which evaluates states on education performance, noting Kerala, Maharashtra, Punjab, Rajasthan, and Chandigarh as top performers. The session emphasized the need for transformative efforts in education to make learning impactful for children.

An assembly was conducted aimed at raising awareness about the importance of preserving the natural environment. There was discussion on the current environmental challenges, including deforestation, pollution, and climate change, and encouraged everyone to take individual steps to reduce their ecological footprint. The recent conservation efforts worldwide and the impact of sustainable practices were highlighted. Additionally, a Digital Poster Making Competition was held including themes- Climate Change Action, Biodiversity Preservation, Water Conservation, Deforestation and Reforestation and Air Quality Improvement.
