All cultural and religious festivals such as Christmas, Ganesh Utsav, Daserra, Diwali, Makar Sankrant, Easter, Id were duly celebrated with emphasis on values that these festivals signify. Theme based assemblies and competitions that captured the essence of the festivals added to the celebration. Food stalls organised to mark Diwali gave a glimpse of the culinary heritage of India. Making ecofriendly Ganeshas was the highlight of Ganesh Utsav. Christmas tableau and carol singing added to the joy of Christmas.
Days of national significance such as Republic Day and Independence Day were celebrated along with our sister institutions. Flag hoisting was held in the college premises and this was followed by inspiring speeches and rendering of patriotic songs. Other important days such as Constitution Day, Gandhi Jayanti, Ambedkar Jayanti were also observed with relevant presentations on the theme of the day.
16 July, the Feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, was observed as Management Day. It was celebrated with a prayer service and a short programme to appreciate the contribution of the Management. 1 October was celebrated as Pushpanjali Day. The day is observed as the Feast of St Therese who is the patroness of our college. The students presented an enactment of her life story, highlighting her journey of faith, humility, and dedication to God through her little way of love and selflessness. The performance brought to light St Therese’s enduring legacy as a model of simplicity and devotion.
Guru Pournima and Teachers’ Day were marked by special assemblies to respect teachers and acknowledge the role they play in shaping humanity.
The Talent Display held on 2 December 2023 was an event where the FYBEd students showcased their diverse range of talents. They impressed everyone with their singing, dancing, acting, art work, culinary delights, nail art, mehendi designs.
The Sports Meet held on 16 December 2023 was marked by great enthusiasm and spirit of camaraderie. The event was graced by the presence of respected Manager Sr. Sharlet Xavier, Principal Sr. Delicia Fernandes, and Chief Guest Mr. Pradeep Dias, an alumnus of the college. Students participated in many track and field events. Indoor games were also conducted with students participating in carrom and chess competitions.
The Investiture Ceremony of the Student Council for 2023-25 batch was conducted with enthusiasm and dignity, marking the formal induction of the FY students into various leadership roles. The Council members took their oath and received their badges from Principal Sr Delicia. The Student Council of the batch of 2022-24 conducted the assembly on the theme ‘Rainbow Colours’ and Fr Alex Simon addressed the newly formed Student Council highlighting the significant role the Council plays in the smooth working of the college.
