November 15th, 2023
Hello everyone, Helfry here and in case you haven’t heard I’m now going to do more lighthearted commentaries along with ranting articles, the reason why i did this is so that i can bridge the gap between my ranting and other stuff, so without any further ado let’s get into it by talking about IKEA. (And before anyone asks, yes I do my own research while writing my articles, usually by watching other videos for “inspiration” and i write them out in my own words.)
Ah yes Sweden: Home of Pewdiepie, The caramelldansen, surprisingly and of course IKEA, Both ikea and costco share quite a few similarities that being they’re both giant warehouses, but we can all agree that there's nothing is more striking than seeing that giant blue building and shiny yellow text ; thus repping the Colors of sweden with a swedish flag plastered next to the building. As for a bit of history IKEA was first founded on July 28th, 1943 in Almhult, Sweden by a 17-year old kid named Ingvar Kamprad with the very first IKEA store opening in 1958 and since then there have been 474 IKEA stores Worldwide across 64 countries. Now for those of you people who either never had the chance to go or haven’t been there, IKEA Is a giant furniture wonderland and when I say giant, I mean these stores can get pretty big, let's be real. In fact the biggest IKEA store in the world is located in Pasay City in the Philippines and it is a staggering 65,000 square meters.
In Fact it's so big that the second you enter the store there’s a huge map of the entire building, and then there’s these arrows along the floor that you have to follow like you’re an enemy in a tower defense game. And yes there are a bunch of safety measures in place to make sure you don’t get lost within the nice looking furniture, It’s a common fact that IKEA doesn’t have any staff recruitment process; no job interviews, they simply wait until the weak customers wander off the track, get lost and become consumed by the store itself. Now while walking through IKEA, you’re met with a whole bunch of furniture and it works as a bit of a showroom design like you’ll see a bunch of these pre-made example rooms like the ones you see in the sims or tomodachi life, you’re free to wander around them to your heart’s content and they’re each full of furniture that you can purchase individually, and they’ll totally not trick you into thinking it’s an actual room.
And let’s not forget about the names for said furniture, sure some of them are named after islands and cities in Sweden and Denmark but IKEA is the only store that makes furniture names sound like warriors and I think that’s pretty sick. And of course let’s not forget about the stuffed animals at IKEA Like the Djungelskog and the Blåhaj, and if you want to take a break from exploring the furniture you can always check out the restaurant with their famous meatballs, and it is confirmed by some fantasy science that every meatball consumed will increase your swedish heritage by 1%. And if you have a kid you can drop them off to småland where they can have fun while you explore the furniture. Oh and as for my #1 rule while at IKEA: Never use the showroom toilets to take a poop, trust me you’re gonna have a bad time if you do.
Anyways that’s all for me today, I really hope you enjoy it and I'll see you guys again in my next article.
Hey Everyone, Helfry here and I really don’t want to do this article whatsoever, but my consciousness wanted me to do it anyway so here we are. Anyways I don't want to waste anymore time so let’s cycle through some healthy alternatives to some popular fast foods and snacks.
First let’s start off with chips, usually chips are extremely greasy, especially potato chips like lays and ruffles and you can see that for yourself, if you lay some potato chips on a piece of tissue you can see some excess oil absorbed within the tissue, so needless to say you need to swap them out in favor of Kale chips, baked banana or plantain chips or baked green bean chips, add a little bit of salt or any other kind of seasoning on them to your liking and voila you got yourself some healthy “non potato” chips.
Now let’s move onto soda, they’re usually very high in sugar but very rich in caffeine. So are there any healthier alternatives to those? Normally there are some diet or zero sugar variants of popular sodas like Coca-Cola or Pepsi but even those have a little hint of sugar in it. So my only suggestion is sparkling water. You can find some in your local supermarket or you can make your own sparkling water using a little device called sodastream, basically it allows you to carbonate anything that has water in it, so obviously you can’t carbonate milk or even any kind of instant ramen. (I can’t imagine how those would taste like)
And finally you can make french fries with anything that’s not potatoes such as carrots, avocados, and even zucchini (I’m not quite sure if you can make the different fry shapes with those alternatives but if anyone wants to try then be my guest.), And also you can substitute any meat products with tofu or even have meat made from plants, this is actually called “beyond meat.” Anyways, that’s all for me today. I hope you enjoyed this article and I'll see you guys next time.
