I feel like I want to do something with one of my favorite video game franchises. By that, I mean the Smash Bros Series. And I’m going to be talking about the history of Some smash bros rumors and leaks. So without any further delay, let’s jump into it.

Super Smash Bros 64: There weren’t any cool leaks for the original smash bros, most likely because the modern internet was at its infancy at the time and also because it was the first game in the series. But there were rumors spreading around that you’re able to play as the characters from the 1-Player Game such as: Master Hand, Metal Mario, Giant DK, and the Fighting Polygon Team. It was also rumored that Wario, Bowser, Mewtwo, Peach, Pit, King Dedede, and Meowth were all planned to be in Smash, However Mewtwo, Dedede & Bowser were the only 3 characters that were officially planned to be released with Bowser and Dedede having a spare amount of things done for the two, but was scrapped possibly due to time constraints, and nobody knows if there’s any work done for Mewtwo at all. Meowth was rumored to be scrapped In favor of Jigglypuff and there were some other rumors that I want to talk about, but couldn’t because I just want to get through this as quickly as possible, so let’s move on to the second installment in this series.

Super Smash Bros Melee: Moving On to one of my favorite installments in the smash bros series, This is where rumors really start to crank up a bit. One of the biggest rumors for this game is Sonic and Tails being unlockable fighters. This rumor was brought to you by Electronic Gaming Monthly, and it said that if you could defeat 20 enemies in Cruel Melee which is literally impossible if you think about it. Anyways once you do so, it would bring you to the fight and winning it would obviously unlock them. Even though they stated that it was true, EGM was notorious for their April Fools Jokes and this was one of them. However, Sonic was close to being in Melee but due to time constraints, that never happened. Geocities.com reported that Toad was an unlockable character and that after achieving a perfect score on the credits minigame, go into adventure mode afterwards and defeat all the Yoshis in the Mushroom Kingdom section. However this was quickly disproven as the screenshots geocities provided were just edits of the toad model from Adventure Mode. Wario was also considered to be in this game so much so that Sakurai stated that if he could create one more character for this game it would’ve been Wario, However many people misquote him and have reported Sakurai that he would just be a clone of Mario but I kinda digress, If Sakurai were to implement Wario to melee he could base his moves from the ones from The Wario Land Games, just like how he did when he Implemented him in Brawl. The History Of Smash Bros Rumors & Leaks: Part 2

Hey everyone I’m back with the second part of The History of The many Smash Bros rumors and leaks. Last time we left off with the rumor with Wario potentially being in melee but was instead added into Brawl's roster, anyways speaking of Smash Bros Brawl, were getting onto it. This game was not only more riddled with more speculation and rumors but also leaks as well with the internet being a much more prominent entity during the development of the game. During a radio interview with Mr. Sakurai, it was revealed that Ridley, Toon Link, And Bowser Jr. were playable characters while Young Link, Ice Climbers, and Mr. Game & Watch were all cut from the roster. I think this is rather not true for some cases as the Ice Climbers and Mr Game & Watch did make it into the roster and Toon Link also made it there too. However Ridley appeared as a boss For the Subspace Emissary and later a playable character, Also nowadays this would’ve been immediately debunked as it just doesn’t make sense to reveal three big newcomers over a radio show. Especially when Sakurai had the smash dojo up and running, which is a blog in which Sakurai reveals new elements and characters for the game. After Snake from Metal Gear Solid was revealed for smash, some people speculated that two more third-party characters were going to be revealed in smash. Things got more hype when Sonic The Hedgehog was going to be added to the game according to the Smash Dojo, so this means that Capcom’s Mega Man might be added to smash Right?.... Right?... Apparently Snake & Sonic were the only third-party characters to be revealed to be in Brawl and Mega Man would later be added to the roster 5 years later I think. So that should be some of the leaks in Smash Bros Brawl, I’ll be doing more Brawl leaks and some Smash 4 leaks in Part 3 so stay tuned for that, anyways That’s All Folks.

History of Smash Bros Rumors and Leaks: Part 3

Hey Everyone, Helfry here back again with the third part of the history of the rumors and leaks of Smash. Originally, part 2 was going to be the end but apparently there’s a lot to talk about so here I am with part 3 so anyways without any further delay, Let’s jump into it!!

At the Whobby game festival in Japan, it was reported that a playable demo for Smash Bros Brawl has some unrevealed assist trophies, those being Rosalina from Mario Galaxy, Duster from Mother 3 and Muddy Mole from Mole Mania (whatever on earth that game is). These rumors were shot down because the people who played the demo didn’t see those assist trophies and evidence for the characters were nowhere to be found in brawl’s code. Additionally, some people think that brawl was the last smash game, with taglines claiming “One Brawl to End Them All” and with Sakurai reportedly saying that this will be the last game…. For now. It’s almost like “Oh My God! This game has so much content, it could be the final one!”

There’s so much going on for smash bros brawl. Let’s move on to Smash 4, and oh boy, this game is far more notorious for leaks than the last game. For example there’s a Rayman DLC leak; this leak wasn’t even debunked and Ubisoft was going to make a statement about this because there were outlets saying that is this real or something, but the leaker themself said that he did this and it was fake. Plus there were more leaks for several other following characters such as: Bandana Waddle Dee, Nester from the Nintendo Power Magazines, Wolf O'Donnell (Yes That’s His Full Name.), A Single Ice Climber, and many many more.

I’m going to cut this article short because this series went through some H.E. Double Hockey Sticks to write. Also this is the last Smash Bros leak article because I really don’t want to make this into a hexalogy. My next article is going to be a bit different from my usual work but I hope you enjoy it!

Super Mario with other girls! - A Mario Day Special!

It's Mario Day with a pinch of females!

Are you a Super Mario fan? Are you a fan of other stuff too?

This is an article about Mario being with other girls to fit the vibes of Mario Day and National Women’s Month. Based on what I’ve been seeing on the internet, the fandom usually pairs(ships) Mario with Peach, Pauline, Meggy from SMG4, the orange inkling girl, and Callie from Splatoon. Miku from Vocaloid, or Neptune from Hyperdimension Neptunia. Let’s dive into the pairings.

Number 8: Marvin and Rose

Mario and Rosalina are only known to be paired because of SML. Late 2015 was Rosalina’s first appearance. At that time, she missed her star, Luma, and was crying about it. As a result, Mario asked to go stargazing, to which Rosalina agreed, implying she loved stars. When he got her a lamp, she was about to get distressed again, until Luma emerged. This was the start of a new relationship. Two years later, they both got married in a parody of Super Mario Odyssey. This is only the SML universe. Some fans just want to pair Mario with Rosalina because, in the whole franchise, she is single. Others pair her with Luigi or Waluigi.

Number 7: Mario Mario and Peach Toadstool.

Peach is always kidnapped by Bowser in the Super Mario Bros. series, and Mario is always there to rescue her. Peach then gives Mario a kiss on the cheek as gratitude for rescuing him. In Super Mario Sunshine, both Mario and Peach were going on a vacation with Toadsworth, the longtime and protective steward of Peach. In my opinion, they would make a great couple. However, they still remain boyfriend and girlfriend.

Number 6: Mario and Pauline.

Pauline was always kidnapped in the Mario vs. Donkey Kong series. The titular kidnapper was donkey kong. In later games, it would be a younger Cranky Kong. Pauline was Mario’s first love interest. For some reason, they broke up resulting in them being ex-boyfriend and ex-girlfriend. However, they still are on good terms as seen in Super Mario Odyssey. Some of us would still pair them nonetheless.

Number 5: Mario Mario and Meggy Spletzer.

Whenever Meggy felt down over losing to the ink brigade on the day she met Mario, when she was too strict with her friends having her help practice for splatfest, when she had to witness the death of Desti, or some other sad moments, Mario was there to comfort and support her by offering her spaghetti or telling her something funny. And it worked. Usually, Mario wouldn’t care for anything except his beloved spaghetti. But apparently, he likes Meggy better than spaghetti. This made us SMG4 fans pair them together. However, there was massive controversy over this on the day they were paired because Inklings in the Splatoon franchise were 14 years old and Mario was 25 years old. I can see why this is a problem because basically, Mario is with a Minor! Meggy was basically 16 years old in the episode of her first appearance in 2017! However, I don’t care and still pair them like they’ve been great friends! If you don’t like them being paired, I understand.

Number 4: Mario and Orange Inkling Girl.

I don't even know the context of how Mario X Orange came to be. My guess is that Orange comes after Red in the colors of the rainbow. There is also controversy to this. The reason for this is also the reason for Mario x Meggy. Inkling age 14, Mario age 25.

Number 3: Mario Mario x Callie Cuttlefish.

Mario and Callie’s siblings were wearing green. (Luigi and Marie in green.) However, Callie was wearing pink and Mario was wearing red. Maybe that’s why she is paired with Mario. Callie also wears an outfit similar to an Octoling when she gets brainwashed with specialized shades. Maybe Mario would be paired with her in an outfit like that? There might be a controversy between the pairing because Callie’s age is 19.

Number 2: Neptune from Hyperdimension Neptunia.

Some guy paired Mario with Neptune on DeviantArt. The description says he didn’t do a gmod rendition of the pairing. This implies that this pairing has been a thing, but it was underrated.

Number 1: Mario Mario and Hatsune Miku

Mario and Miku have been a pairing for more than a decade, Despite their ages. My guess is that Miku wears cyan and Mario wears red. Invert cyan and you get red. Miku Day is on the 9th of March (3 = Mi, 9 = ku) and Mario Day is on the 10th of March. (If you see the date on your device say MAR 10, it can read out as MARIO due to the letter I and number 1 being similar.) Now, once again, there is controversy about this pairing because Miku is 16. But if we fans want to pair Mario with Miku, then that’s what we shall do.

Today is International Women’s Day. What is it? Let's find out!

International Women’s Day is all about honoring the women around us. Back in the far past, females weren’t respected much as males were. Then, the day for women to have equal rights originated in Austria, Denmark, Germany, and Switzerland in 1911. It followed a consensus reached in Copenhagen, Denmark. Then, it was decided that March 8 would be universally recognized as International Women's Day. Eventually, National Women’s Day was fully global. National Women’s Day is also for the rest of March. So as a result, I will keep writing articles on mostly Fictional Females.

I will still alternate that between my passion for electric gates, elevators, and washing machines. It’s also Helfry’s 17th birthday as I write this tonight, so either wish him a happy 17th birthday or I will banish you to the shadow realm. Bye.

Daylight Saving Time will 'Spring Forward' on Sunday, March 13th, 2022

DAYLIGHT SAVING TIME BEGINS

Do you know what’s going to begin on Sunday March 13th? Daylight Savings Time! It begins at 2 A.M. When it hits that time, we start making adjustments to ‘spring forward’ an hour ahead before going to bed. But, if I am still sleeping and then I wake up in the morning, I would fix the time on my watch going forward. Daylight Savings Time originally started on July 1st, 1908 in Port Arthur, Ontario, Canada. Did you know Daylight Savings Time helps conserve energy? According to timeanddate.com, "During Daylight Saving Time, the sun sets one hour later in the evenings, so the need to use electricity for household lighting and appliances is reduced. People tend to spend more time outside in the evenings during Daylight Saving Time, which reduces the need to use electricity in the home".

Daylight saving time will end on Sunday, November 6th. On this day we will turn our clocks back an hour. A saying to remember how to change the time is to "spring forward and fall back". Remember to fix time so that you do not get confused and are late to work or school!

How modding Baldi's Basics interested me - A game modification article

This thing connects to two other articles.

Baldi’s Basics… a math game that is like no other… Mods were being released to the public over time. Most of them I was interested in were ‘Denied’s Basics,’ Billy’s Basic Educational Game,’ and the ‘Garfelf’s Guide’ series. In the Billy’s forest camping mod was an end card replacing one of the end cards in the original Baldi camping demo. The replaced end card was a message from the creator. It basically said he would either do “Billy’s Abandoned House” or “Denied’s Basics after demon infection”. Both were sequels to the original Billy and Blue Baldi and were obviously based on Garfelf’s Guide 2. So instead of Denied’s after demon infection thingy, we got Billy's Abandoned House thingy instead. Originally, it was going to be named 9 years later, but the creator Le Billy made it 11 years later. KrazzersKits/Kracc also released a part 2 to the Randomness infection in Baldi’s School. Part 1 was for Baldi v1.4. Part 2 is for Baldi v.1.4.3.

In early March or late February 2019, I decided to watch a tutorial on replacing images and audio in Baldi’s Basics. Since I was impatient, I decided to just “skip to the point.” I did watch the process at least. So, after watching the guide, I decided that I wanted to create my own mods called Filename2 mania, Baldi’s Randomness 3, (randomness aftermath) and the after demon invasion. I edited some of the image assets, and created/edited some sounds to replace the original audio files in the mod. Since I didn’t have a computer yet, I had to wait until I would actually obtain one to take action. I am also thinking about doing this "abandoned" thing for Saintza's Basics as well. Most Baldi mods are for Windows computers, so I am hoping to get a Windows computer. I will be excited to actually make a Baldi’s Basics and Field Trip demo mod.

The proud family: prouder than ever!

Today I have a hilarious show to discuss, Disney's "The Proud Family". The Proud Family came out in 2001 and aired until 2005. The show is about the Proud family - a fun, loving family of eight people. The family members include: Penny, Oscar, Trudy, Bebe & Cece, Suga Mama, Bobby, Oscar, and Puff (Suga Mama's poodle). The show was created by Bruce W. Smith for Jambalaya studios. It was originally supposed to be on Nickelodeon but Disney ended up airing it! They also made a movie called The Proud Family about the family going on vacation.

In February 2020, a reboot of the show, titled The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder aired on Disney channel. On January 14th, 2022 it was announced The show was going to air a third season on Disney+. It was announced the series is scheduled to release on February 23, 2022. Unfortunately, the show has still not been released because of the pandemic.

The creators of the reboot said a lot has changed since the original show aired and said "the show will take on more current topics rather than using coded language like in original show". The producer also said that there will be a LGBTQ+ character on the show! This is a huge moment for Disney showing diversity.

Student Profile: Joana Jimenez.

Hey everyone. I'm kicking off with a brand new series where I interview students from P138M. For my first interview I decided to sit down with one of my good friends, Joana Jimenez (not to be confused with the teacher in the mailroom/library Ms. Joanna - for that interview check out Jonathan’s latest article!) Joanna is an awesome person who I enjoy spending time with, especially at lunch. We have similar interests and I wanted to get to know her more.

When I sat down with Joanna I asked her various questions about things she likes, dislikes, and some personal questions as well. Below is a transcript of our conversation. If you don’t know Joanna, I think this will give great insight into who she is as a person.

Helfry: “What are three things you like and dislike?”

Joanna: “I like making friends, my dog, and people. Something I don’t like is bullies.”

Helfry: “What is your favorite genre of music?”

Joanna: “Anything but country!”

Helfry: “Which do you like better, dogs or cats?”

Joanna: “Dogs of course!”

Helfry: “What are your pet peeves?”

Joanna: “Weird comments on YouTube”

Helfry: “Would you rather play Mario Kart against a pro (aka: me) or teach someone else how to play Mario Kart? (with a bit of my knowledge on it)?

Joanna: “I would rather teach someone how to play Mario Kart”

Helfry: “What do you want to be when you grow up?”

Joanna: “I want to be a Youtuber”

Helfry: “Hopefully I will make some appearances in your videos.

Helfry: “For our final question, is there anything else you want people to know about you?”

Helfry: “Me too, except I can’t draw hands so I just draw stubs for hands”

OP-ED: Why school buses (and not only) should have trash cans inside!

I haven’t done an OP-ED article in a while, so here is one right now. I would like to talk about how there should be trash cans inside school buses.

It’s not every day when you want to blow your nose, especially on a school bus. After you blow your nose and there is nowhere to put the used tissue inside, you have to resort to putting it inside your backpack. It’s probably a struggle, because your backpack might be full of boogers. As a result, I say there should be trash cans inside all school buses, and not only school buses. There should be trash cans in all types of buses, so the other passengers don’t get disgusted by the boogers.

Turning Red: A movie review

I recently watched "Turning Red" and knew I had to give you all a review! "Turning Red" is funny and heartwarming. This movie is about a 13 year-old girl named Meillin who wants to be a good daughter but also wants to do normal teenage things. But there is something unique about Meillin - every time she gets angry or excited she turns into a giant red panda. This movie is about the pains of growing up and how it doesn't always feel good and can get complicated. Meillin's mom is uptight and tries to control her daughter but Meillin doesn't like this and it leads to problems. I don't want to write more and spoil it - you will just have to watch for yourself! I rate this movie 5 stars. I hope you enjoy it too!

The Mask Mandate Lifting In Many Schools

This week marks a historic moment in NYC Schools since the COVID pandemic started in March 2020 - the mask mandate for schools has been lifted! And it kinda feels good to say the least. Now kids and teachers who wear glasses don’t have to experience any condensation on the lenses, but COVID is still not over yet. A lot of people are still getting it left and right and it’s all thanks to the Omicron Variant. At this point all of the COVID variants will be named after the letters of the Greek alphabet like Alpha, Epsilon, and Sigma. Anyways i’m going off-topic, it feels really good to not wear a mask since like… forever, I honestly cannot believe it’s been 3 years since I haven’t worn a mask, it actually feels like it’s all back to normal, but like I said it’s still not over for COVID. It’s gonna come back again and again and again until it finally gives up which I highly doubt will happen. But anyways this is rather something different than what i usually make but hey, at least they did something good for once. Anyways That’s All Folks!

Top 6 best things about Helfry that I like! - A top 6's article

We’ve all had a good friends in our life. Especially when they have been a former rival of yours. Since tomorrow is Helfry’s birthday, I have decided to write an article about 6 things I like about him. Without further ado, let’s begin.

6. FNF/Friday Night Funkin’

I came across a gameplay of FNF in late December of 2020. I watched gameplays and took the time to listen to the stage (week) music. In February 2021 was the first appearance of Whitty. The mod changed FNF modding forever. Sarvente, Taki, Kapi, Tabi, and Garcello. Garcello and Hex were two of my favorite characters. I mentioned him and many other FNF characters like Tabi and Annie in class. Helfry would say where they came from. When we would get the nunchucks for the Wii-mote, I would call the nunchucks Sarventes or Takis because the two female freaks of nature have Nun outfits. Whenever I would hear a random cough from someone, I would say they are doing the Garcello challenge. Helfry got the jokes for the whole NUN-chuck and coughing thing.

5. SML/SuperMarioLogan

As the summer of 2016 progressed, I came across a Bowser Junior skit called “The Elevator.” The video was in the form of plushies. The Magikoopa was renamed Cody, and the regular Koopa Troopa was renamed Joseph. I watched a few more SML videos, (especially those from 2013) and watched the ones starring an original character named Jeffy. Whenever we would play Mario Kart Wii on a Friday in class, I would choose a rendition of a Koopa Troopa and name him Joseph, or pick Mario and call him either “Human Mario” or “Marvin” because of the cease and desist Nintendo sent to SML. Other classmates of ours would be confused on why I named Mario “Marvin” or Koopa Troopa “Joseph.” Helfry would say, “They are named like that if you have watched SuperMarioLogan.” During break time in the school library, me, Helfry, Justin would watch a few SML episodes before Ms. Sarah came to pick our whole class up. I would even say “wanna see my pencil?” and “Mario, PLEASE!” Just to entertain him and Justin.

Number 4: SMG4/SuperMarioGlitchyFour

In July of 2016, I came across SMG4. The first video I watched from him was a Five Nights at Freddy’s video called “Freddy’s Spaghettria.” SMG4 released two other parts to Freddy’s Spaghettria trilogy. I watched them all. I watched the other SMG4 videos over time, from those videos to the Anime Arc to the Genesis Arc. Starting this school year, I realized Helfry watches SMG4 too. He even talked about it at times. According to him, he prefers the classic SMG4. I’m not wrong. SMG4 in 2014-2016 was very crazy. It truly defined SMG4’s world of stupidness! (can’t say the actual word bc it’s not school appropriate) We both watched the craziness Waluigi committed, the Manipulation Bob did, and the kidnapping of a loved and hated Meggy. We both watched Meta Runner, and Sunset Paradise. We would talk about the new SMG4 episode that was uploaded on YouTube almost every day. I would even use SMG4 fan photos for memes to submit to Ms. Sarah.

Number 3: PBS Kids shows

Back in the past, like 2010 or something, I was watching various shows from PBS Kids, like Cyberchase, WordGirl, Curious George, Arthur, Dinosaur Train, Dragon Tales, Classic Bob the Builder, Classic Thomas the Tank Engine, Word World, The Cat in the Hat, and more. Helfry was no different. However, he prefers the classic PBS Kids shows. And I can see why; the reboot of Bob the Builder and Thomas the Tank Engine look… *inhale* not that great for most of us to like it. It looks “Mediocre” as Helfry would say. I’m surprised I’m one of the only ones that likes the reboot of Bob the Builder! Wordgirl is growing in popularity in 2022 with "out of context" highlights, clips of a specific villain, or Wordgirl being paired with Tobey.

Number 2: Elevators VS. Subway Trains

While I like elevators, Helfry likes subway trains. In my opinion, subway trains give similar to elevators ngl. And so do buses. The doors on an elevator, bus, and subway train have windows. Above the doors of an elevator and train is a floor indicator/route map, and the riding experience is technically the same, except trains and buses are horizontal and elevators are vertical.

Number 1: Dorkly

Dorkly is a group of people creating sprite-animation parodies of various video games like Mario, Zelda, Sonic, Pokemon, Metal Gear, and many more! My favorite character is Bowser in the Dorkly universe because of the british accent. Bowser for that specific reason might have been Helfry's favorite character too.

Donating food to overall other people in need - A news article

Some schools are able to afford stuff and some are unable to do so. This is just my opinion, but to tell if some schools are easily able to afford these foods, look at the interior changes. This is if you have been a teacher inside the school for years.

Apparently, my middle school and high school are able to afford some interior modifications. Doors are painted from red to blue and other colors in my middle on the first floor, and customized classroom icons are put on the interior in my high on the first floor and basement.

The exterior gas lighting was replaced with exterior LED lighting in both of my schools. If they are able to afford modifications like these, then they sure as heck are able to afford lunches and breakfasts and other stuff.

Even my current home, and my two former homes were able to afford elevator modernizations, interior renovations, and replacement automated gate installments! NYCHA won't do nothing about no renovations...

Now, sometimes, other homes are unable to afford modifications like these. Much to Ms. Allie’s concern, she chose our class to go on a weekly field trip to donate food to people in need. The trip shall occur every Monday, unless if Ms. Sarah was absent. And who knows if there will be a flat tire or something with the delivery trucks going to other schools. It’s gonna be no problem!

UPDATE 03/03/2022: It will be a problem. According to Ms. Allie, there are bussing issues causing us to not being able to deliver to those in need.

UPDATE 03/10/2022: Screw it, we're packing an alignment of food in the library every Thursday to give it to some person named Andy and have her deliver it to those in need because of the bussing issues.

The Rise & Fall Of Mobile Games & It's Ads

Ah yes mobile games, the kinds of games that you play on your phone, everyone at least remembers playing Angry Birds or Temple Run or Jetpack Joyride or maybe even Plants Vs Zombies. Remember that you used to play the free/lite versions of your favorite mobile games because you can’t afford the full version, well I know I have, so what on earth happened to them, well let me tell you, all of the full versions of the old games are now free, which means they’ll bombard you with as many ads to make you suffer! ( Oh Boy I Love Ads After I Complete A Level) And they also had to cram in so many micro-transactions so there’s that too, Not to mention the more modern mobile games are just lone cash-grabs and the creators only wanted to make money from them. Anyways let’s move on to the ads, Oh boy the ads. I remember the first wave of mobile game ads very fondly, you have the games I mentioned above such as Angry Birds and Plants vs Zombies. But there’s also Clash of Clans, Doodle Jump, and Cut The Rope. But what on earth happened to the mobile game ads were getting today, you get a text at the top that says. I can't reach pink color or Only 10% can complete this stage along with some gameplay at the bottom, And don't even get me started on those multiple choice ads, some pointer would usually choose the wrong answer and things would not go their way and afterwards a big red FAIL Would appear on the screen. God just seeing these ads makes me want to bang my head against the wall, but not literally, that would be painful. Anyways i’ve also seen mobile game ads that are way too suggestive and for some reason it’s all over Youtube, they usually use Rule 34 Content of Among Us, Friday Night Funkin or any other popular game that they could get their filthy hands on, hell they even sometimes put them both together like a little crossover. (Not that we’ve seen many crossovers up until that point) It honestly makes people (Including me) wish they could go back to the good ol’ days where it’s just The Old Mobile Games, anyways I really need to lie down but hey, at least I didn’t lost my temper a bit unlike that rant I did on minion memes. PWHS Clubs Starting

On Friday, March 4th Park West High School Clubs started. This was the first time we have had clubs in two years, due to the COVID pandemic. Students and staff were excited to have the Friday tradition back. This year there are 6 clubs. The clubs this year are: Video Game Club with Ms. Sarah and Ms. Molly. Ms. Jeanine and Ms. Jenny are hosting Dance Club. Arts & Crafts Club is being hosted by Ms. Leah and Ms. Christina. Fashion club is being hosted by Ms. Joanna and Ms. Tangie. One of the most popular clubs, Karaoke Club is hosted by Ms. Jasmine and Ms. Santana. Lastly, Mr. Alex and Ms. Sandra are hosting Sports Club. Clubs run from 9:40-11:10 every Friday. I'm in Video Games Club. We get to play the Wii and spend the whole time gaming with friends - it's awesome! What club would you want to join?

Back in my childhood/teenagehood during the Corlear Gardens and Tibbett Towers eras, we would go on a field trip to a school in Manhattan. It was not just a school in Manhattan, it was a high school in Manhattan. The school was known as Park West High School, which is the same school with those five floors, a mashup of schools, and the double-door pair elevator. The objective of us arriving at that school was to go inside an auditorium.

Inside the auditorium was a huge number of students, chairs, a piano, and a stage. When it was time to start the show, there would be people announcing that the show would be starting soon. The microphones were connected to the speakers. The speakers were LOUD! When the music played, the music was also loud because they connected their device to the speakers. Various classes were dancing to songs we hear on the radio. The songs were Maniac by Michael Sembello, Billie Jean by Michael Jackson, Last Friday Night by Katy Perry, etc.

The songs that were picked would be mixed by the classes that picked the music. Starting just recently, I would call it a bait-and-switch. The classes would also have different props, such as stage and costume assets. Dance shows like these have probably gone on for years. Classes from PWHS were not the only classes to dance on the stage. P138 classes from many other schools have also been practicing for the talent show. We also obtained papers that have the student and teacher names of the classes that will be dancing on the stage.

Let’s time-travel to 2019. 2019 was the last year of dances in the PWHS auditorium. I was in Mr. Nick’s class at that time in The Mirabel Sisters School. We were practicing and danced to Moves Like Jagger by Maroon 5. When it was our turn to dance, we went inside the back of the stage. Our class name was called after the previous one was done. We went through the curtain and started dancing to Moves Like Jagger. Our parents were taking videos of us dancing to the song. That day was a good day for all of us.

Little did we know it was going to be our LAST dance for some time. I was in Ms. Morgan’s class for the 2019-2020 school year at Park West High School. Dance props, costumes, and music were undecided. When news about the pandemic and protests came around closing all schools, props, and music will NEVER BE! Click here to get those pandemic vibes again.

This does not only affect Ms. Morgan’s class, this also affects the other classes performing for the PWHS talent show in the other P138 schools as well! Despite some students returning to school in the 2020-2021 year, Winter door wars and PWHS talent shows were still off-limits. This occurred until the 2021-2022 school year. All students were permitted to return to school, and so were the Winter door wars and PWHS talent show.

Ms. Sarah C is having us dance to “Let’s Groove” from Earth, Wind, and Fire, with a mix of other songs. I wanted to do something special for the 2021-2022 school year's show. As confirmed by Ms. Allie, usually, there would be no “special” grand finale. But the 2021-2022 school year was an exception because we were physically apart from each other for almost two years!

We can't have a good year?!

10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, Happy 2022… or IS IT?! What is going on in 2022? While my 5 year elevator anniversary occurred, Russia is having a war with Ukraine! My mother was distressed as she discussed this on the phone with her friends. All of my family members come from Russia. My mother, my grandmother, my uncle, basically all adults. I visited grandma on February 27th, at some point in time, my grandma turned on her TV to get more information on the war. According to a Google search, Russia and Ukraine have had no diplomatic relations since February 24th. According to BBC, Putin declares Russia didn’t feel “safe, develop and exist” because of what he claimed was a constant threat from Ukraine. Even my high school psychologist was talking about this to me. She even told me that this could lead to World War III. People from Ukraine moved away, other people from Ukraine stayed behind. Even Biden is aware of this and said he will fight back. "We will seize your yachts, luxury apartments and private jets," he said. Homes in Ukraine are getting destroyed! I hope this does not happen in our country. How do you feel about this massive havoc going on?

UPDATE MARCH 21ST 2022:

I got a notification on my device saying that Trump has basically sided with Putin. I went further into this news story and read how Trump DELAYED WEAPONS TO UKRAINE AND PRAISED PUTIN! I feel so friend-zoned at this point. I thought I really liked Trump and Putin, but after what they did in February and March, I probably won't like them anymore.

As Daylight Savings Time comes to an end I wanted to discuss how sunlight travels away from earth. Did you that sunlight travels 93,000,000 miles? It is 93,000,000 miles away from the 3rd planet in our solar system, Earth. It takes about 8 minutes for sunlight to travel 93,000,000 miles to reach us down. Sunlight travels at the speed of 186,000 miles (300,000 kilometers) per second.

Sunlight is very important because it has very good health benefits that include generating the production of vitamin D, supporting bone health, lowering blood pressure, preventing disease, and promoting good mental health. For example, the Sun-Maid Raisins Girl talks about sunlight travels 93,000,000 miles because it helps those delicious grapes to into raisins for our environment before using them in the recipes. Like she said in the Sun-Maid Raisins commercials, the slogan is "Nothing but Grapes and Sunshine!"

In our environment, sunlight also is necessary for photosynthesis, and to provide energy to warm the earth’s atmosphere. Isn't sunshine wonderful? I love it so much whenever I see it all day in the morning and afternoon!

CHICAGO RIVER'S 60TH ANNIVERSARY OF TURNING GREEN FOR EVERY ST. PATRICK'S DAY!

Did you know that the Chicago River turns green? The reason why it turns green is because of St. Patrick’s Day. This tradition started in 1962 and continues every year in Chicago, Illinois. Mayor Richard J. Daley and the Chicago Journeyman Plumbers Local 130 business manager Stephen Bailey came up with the idea. Plumbers used fluorescein dye to find out the situation of illegal pollution discharges. The Chicago River stays green for several days before it actually turns back to normal. For the plumbers’ 60th anniversary, the Chicago River began to turn green at 10 A.M. on Saturday, March 12th, 2022. Shocking and surprising, isn’t it! I would love to see this in person. Can you imagine this happening in NYC? Have a happy St. Patrick’s Day!

Have you ever seen shamrocks that have three leaves and clovers and that have four leaves and that they represent something before? Three leaves on the shamrock represent the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit and four leaves on the clover stand for faith, hope, love and good luck. According to Google, shamrocks don’t actually exist because there are no clover plants that produce four leaves. My preference due to St. Patrick’s Day, is a four-leaf clover because that reminds me of my family of four. St. Patrick’s Day is on its way! So, get ready to celebrate the special day of green! And even though they are rare, I hope you find a shamrock that brings you luck all year long.

Five years of recording/videotaping elevators and the public release of the Nintendo Switch - A short anniversary/crossover article

5 years... I've come a long way... Oh! And so did the succession of the Nintendo Switch. Enjoy reading this crossover of an article!

Today is five years since I recorded an elevator! The elevators I recorded were the right side elevator from my side of Tibbett Towers, mostly the left side elevator from Grandma’s side of Nathan Hale Gardens, and the right side elevator in the same building. After seeing the amount of elevator videos on YouTube, I wanted to create my own. I did so on both sides of Tibbett Towers in March, Corlear Gardens in April, and both sides of Nathan Hale Gardens in the same month. Various elevators from 3915 Orloff Avenue, Target, Mirabel Sisters School, Tito Puente Education Complex, West 50th Street Campus, Waldo Gardens and 6629 Broadway were included in the mix over time.

My elevator quest would continue in places like these when the occasional time came. Today is March 3rd. I wish to record as many elevators as possible today/throughout this year.

The Nintendo Switch was released on March 3rd, 2017. After the Wii U failed, Nintendo made a new console called the Nintendo Switch. Ports of Mario games were released for the switch over time, such as Mario Kart 8, Super Mario 3D World and New Super Mario Bros U.

Various other games from the SNES past were ported to the switch, too, such as Donkey Kong Country. Games like Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Splatoon 2, Super Mario Maker 2, Doom Eternal, Super Mario Odyssey, Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Pokemon Legends, A hat in time, and Super Mario + Rabbids were released for the switch over time.

If you have been following my story on Building Life, I took more interest in the NYCHA buildings and had a new article idea to compare the two types of buildings. Have you ever lived in an apartment building with elevators and heaters that rarely cease to fail? Have you ever lived in an apartment building with elevators and heaters that almost always cease to fail? If you have answered yes to either question, you are either living in Nathan Hale Gardens, Corlear Gardens, Waldo Gardens, Tibbett Towers, Edwardian Apartments, or some other building with working elevators and heaters or an NYCHA building. Let’s take a look at what goes on in an NYCHA building.

-ELEVATOR PROBLEMS-

So far I know, the elevators are out of order almost every month. Residents have to suffer, elderly or not! According to the web, it is said that some elderly man DIED in an elevator at the age of 84 in an NYCHA building!

The elevator jerked upwards, trapping the man's leg and hand and then dropping him on his head. Stuff like that is serious! The elevators at all of the buildings mentioned above were randomly out of service, which meant they wouldn’t move and floor/call buttons were unresponsive. Usually, one out of two elevators is disabled. At rare times, both elevators are disabled. It usually occurs due to a rainstorm mixed with a hurricane affecting the elevator shaft in the buildings.

-HEATER/GAS/WATER PROBLEMS-

We would always take a shower and wash our hands in our apartments when needed. However, we had to alternate between cold and hot water to make it warm. Whenever it would be frigid outside, the heater would save us from the cold. That rarely happens in an NYCHA building. Residents are always dealing with cold water only. They can’t wash their hands or shower like they usually do! They have to be in their blanket all day! Residents can’t even cook soup for their children!

Water overall is dysfunctional at times, too. However, the heaters in all apartment buildings mentioned above work too well…

I hear hissing noises every time they are activated at Tibbett Towers, my current building. The ambient banging noises are just the activation process of turning on the radiator. The heater at Nathan Hale Gardens, my former building, works fluently too. Corlear Gardens, my former childhood building, was no different. So are probably the other buildings mentioned above.

-CRIME!-

Most crime occurs in an NYCHA building. Shooting-related crimes specifically. This one guy got shot in the lobby of an NYCHA building, an NYCHA boss got shot by an NYCHA employee over some argument, and stairwells are vandalized! Nothing like that even happens in all Co-Op buildings! Except for Nathan Hale Gardens… There was a little bit of vandalization on those stairwells. But no shootings go on in there, neither do the Co-Op buildings mentioned above.

However, One crime-related thing going on at Nathan Hale Gardens and Waldo Gardens involves packages. Random people steal packages from those two homes. Many other apartment complexes deal with this as well, like 6629 Broadway Avenue.

-APARTMENT INTERIOR-

There are times when the interior of an apartment you live in has mold. If it’s all buildings mentioned above, then it might take a few days to fix the underlying moisture problem fueling the mold. If it’s an NYCHA home, then they just paint over it. Yeah, paint over the mold. One resident with asthma has lived her life like this for years according to the web.

-APARTMENT RENOVATIONS?!-

Recently, many NYCHA apartments are in the process of being renovated. This is because they signed a lease with the Permanent Affordability Commitment Together (PACT) program. It’s about time they renovate the apartments there, despite Nathan Hale Gardens, Waldo Gardens, and Edwardian Apartments being one step ahead from that.

Corlear Gardens and Tibbett Towers were many steps ahead from that. The lobby, apartment hall and basement interiors over there are modified, they actually can afford electric gates for their parking areas, and they have their own residential laundromat which went through machine replacements. All buildings named above even have modernized their elevators.

-MUSIC/PARTY OUTSIDE THE BUILDINGS-

There would be music playing outside an NYCHA building near the playgrounds. Residents would come outside to join the party. Corlear Gardens and Tibbett Towers were no different. Back in 2011 was the 50th anniversary of Tibbett Towers. According to a video I found, the video consisted of the residents being interviewed and having a good time. During that time, I still lived inside Corlear Gardens. In that building, they can afford their own concert! This first occurred in September 2020 and happened again in May 2021. Technically, there is music going on at Nathan Hale Gardens. However, the music comes from a balcony with residents on the second floor in Building B. So basically, the residents played music outside the building. The music mostly comes from them. This concludes my article for today.

THINGS I CAN DO IN THE FUTURE!

Do you know that you can do something in the future? I plan on doing somethings in the future. The first thing I would like to make is my very own Proud Peacock mascot costume that is owned by NBC because I would imagine that he would be as “Proud as a Peacock.” The second thing I would like to make my custom tire rims that is modeled from the fidget spinners and video game controllers. Additionally, I would add one each of those PlayStation symbols in the middles of the two tire rims each and then I would also add one each of the button symbols such as triangle, square, circle and x on the right and the buttons on the left such as up, down, left and right because I am fan of PlayStation and also one each of the Nintendo Switch symbols in the middles of two more tire rims and then I also would add one each of the button symbols such as a, b, x, and y on the right and four triangles that go up, down, left and right because I am also a fan of Nintendo. They will be added to my dream car. The third thing I would to make is our new dream house with the new theme called “modern” because I want everything to have new things instead of just having the same things to do everyday such as hand dryers and soap dispensers in the bathroom, washing machine with the dryer in the laundry room, games/video games, video game consoles, video game chairs in the game/video game room, the swings, a lot of pavement to race with R/C vehicles in the backyard including race tracks with a Cartoon Network start/finish line and bumps, etc, Trackmaster Thomas & Friends items, and other items in the railway room, and a Giggling Pillsbury Doughboy plush and chef hats that are shaped like turkey booties (as known as “turkey frills”) in the kitchen. Last, but not least, the fourth thing I can fix are the reverse lights in my at the back of my Tesla Model Y because after it’s upgraded, I want to be able to hear the reverse sound as well as trucks, vans and buses. Those are the things that I am going to do in the future. If you can imagine something in your minds, you can do something exciting and in the future as well. Remember to persevere and keep on moving forward!
