Olympic Speed Skating
Speed skating is an olympic game that you play inside. This sport originated in the Netherlands in 1676. I really like this sport. Here are some rules. Only 2 skaters can skate at a time. And skaters must change lanes every lap,no cutting inside the other person's lane unless you are switching lanes. It must be hard to remember all of that. Here are the equipment: speed skates,spandex skin suit,protective helmet,cut proof skating gloves,knee pads,neck guard,ankle protection. Man that shure is a lot. Hope you had fun learning about speed skating.
Speed skating has a lot of newton's 1st law.Newton's 1st law balanced and unbalanced forces .Any object in motion will stay in motion till something stops it.Cancel each other out causing no motion.Also Objects at rest and at motion.Stay at rest till speed skates,you cause it to move. Move until you or skates stop it.When they change.No longer be at rest if something moves it. Or no longer stay in motion when something stops it.
Newton's 2nd law. The greater the mass the more force it will take to accelerate the object. Force is a push or a pull. My sport uses force by pushing from the skates when the race starts. My sport also uses force by pulling the leg around when turning. Mass is measurement. Mass in my sport is how much they turn. Also how fast they turn. Acceleration is an object changing position. Acceleration in my sport is tightening the turns. Also, my body is changing position. My sport person needs not that much acceleration but when using force to start moving they need to accelerate their body in a different position so
and think about their turn before they turn.
I'm focusing on oil pastel. The reason I chose oil pastel is because it stays in one spot. My subject at first was speed skating. But now I'm focusing on the movement of the skates because of the movement it shows. I'm using lines behind the skates because it shows movement. The elements and principles I'm going to use are lines and shapes. Speed skating has a lot of Newton's laws and that was all of them.
