Paralympic Equestrian
My sport is equestrian, it is a Paralympic sport, it was played in 3500 BCE! This sport was added to the Paralympics in 1996. The equipment for equestrian includes saddles, stirrups, bridle, halter, reins, bits, harness, and cinch. Also the rules for this sport are when riding, wear a hat or helmet, second, wear boots with proper heels, third the riders basic item of clothing including a riders hat. The riders and the horses are timed courses in which the horses have to jump obstacles. There are also some ways Newton's laws are in equestrian.
Newton's first law is seen in the equestrian sport. This law says that an object at rest stays at rest and an object in motion stays in motion until there is a force applied. In equestrian, the horse and the rider are at rest when they are standing still waiting to compete. Then, they are in motion when the rider applies muscular force to make the horse move. The rider has to hold onto the halter to steer the horse because they are unbalanced when they move. These are some ways that Newton’s first law is seen in equestrian.
Newton's second law says the acceleration of an object depends on the force applied and the mass of the object. Also, the greater the mass of an object, the more force is needed to accelerate. Also acceleration happens when a force is applied to a mass (object). In equestrian, the mass is the horse and the rider. The forces are seen when the rider steers the horse and when the horse walks, runs, and jumps. The acceleration is when the horse goes faster and also slower. When the rider has the horse jump or run faster, they have to tell the horse to use more force.
Newton's third law says that every action has an equal and opposite reaction. The actions in equestrian include the horse pushing down and back on the ground with their hooves. This causes a reaction, where the horse and rider move up and forward. There are several unbalanced forces that cause action and reaction. When the horse moves, the rider’s body bounces up and then gravity causes the body to be pulled down. These are the ways Newton’s laws are seen in the Paralympic sport equestrian.
