Taekwondo
Every four years the best athletes compete in the olympics. In Korea in 1940 Taekwondo became a sport. Taekwondo became an olympic sport in the year 2000. To play the game you need full body armor, gloves and a helmet. Some of the main rules are that athletes can only attack the head and chest of their opponent with their feet. But they can use their hands to attack the chest. Athletes score points by punching and kicking each other.
Taekwondo has many different forces at work. To begin, Isaac Newton’s first law. It says an object at rest will stay at rest until a force comes upon it. An object in motion will stay in motion until a force comes upon it. There are two types of forces. A balanced force means not moving an unbalanced force is something that is moving. In Taekwondo, an unbalanced force is the athlete because they are always moving. This law can be seen in this sport of taekwondo when people are battling because they move and try to take each other down.
Newton’s second law says an object with a bigger mass will take more force to move it. An object with less mass will take less force to move it. Mass is particles. The player accelerates when they are punching or kicking their opponent. The more force they apply to the punch the more powerful the punch is. The less force they apply to the punch or kick the less powerful the hit or punch will be. Force impacts the game by letting you kick or punch. You can tell how hard they are because of how fast they punch. In Taekwondo athletes use acceleration while punching or kicking. Overall Newton's 2 law is shown through Taekwondo.
Taekwondo shows examples of Newton's 3rd law of motion. It says an action will have a reaction. It shows when an athlete punch is there, the opponent by them stepping forwards and kicking the head it comes to where it was. When one athlete steps back then their opponent lunges forward. The sport of Taekwondo is fun and exciting. Newton's laws are really shown in this sport. Truly, physics can be seen in the world of Taekwondo.
