Paralympic Taekwondo
Para Taekwondo’s background is very fascinating for many reasons. First, the origin of para taekwondo started in 2009. The first WTF Para Taekwondo world championship happened in Baku, Azerbaijan. The equipment needed is a hougo (torso partector), arm pads, mouth protector, helmet that is different from a biking helmet and is a little soft, and a cup if you're a boy (groin protector). The rules are to do light contact for headshots, the harder you kick or punch the more points you get. It starts with two people facing each other, the referee says go and they start fighting, the person with the most points wins. There are also many clues and hints that Newton’s Laws are in para Taekwondo.
Newton’s first law is really interesting in several ways. Newton’s first law is that an object at rest will stay at rest and an object in motion will stay in motion unless acted on by an unbalanced force. Additionally, balanced and unbalanced forces are fascinating as well. Balanced forces are still and not moving, unbalanced forces are moving and not still. Finally, there is rest and motion. Rest is when something is not moving and motion is when something is moving. Rest and motion is in para taekwondo too. Objects that are at rest are when the players are not kicking and punching the opponent. Objects in motion are when the players are kicking and punching each other. Physics is seen all over the world of para Taekwondo.
There are several reasons why Newton’s 2nd law is seen in para Taekwondo. Newton’s second law says that the acceleration of an object depends on the force applied and the mass of the object. Force is used when the athlete kicks, their leg changes position. Force is also seen when the athlete ducks or blocks a punch or kick. When the athlete gets hit, the athlete might step back or fall down thus, showing acceleration in Newton’s 2nd law. When the athlete fakes, they move faster, which shows Newton’s 2nd law with faster acceleration. The athlete and their gear shows mass in Newton’s 2nd law. Overall, that is how Newton’s 2nd law is seen in para Taekwondo.
Newton’s 3rd Law is seen in para taekwondo for several reasons. The first topic to consider is the 3rd Law. Newton’s 3rd Law is that every action has an equal and opposite reaction. An action is an act, equal means the same amount. Opposite means the other version of something, and reaction is an action that happens in response to an act. Additionally, people can see Newton’s 3rd Law in para taekwondo by, when they kick the opponent, the opponent steps back, when they punch they block, ect. Other examples are, they kick, they block, one punches the other gets hit. There are so many ways Newton’s Laws are seen in para taekwondo. In conclusion, that’s all of the many ways that all three of Newton’s Laws are seen in para taekwondo.
