QAA - Assessment Festival
25th, 26th and 27th April

Join us for an assessment extravaganza as we dare to be controversial, ask difficult questions and take a future-focused lens over all-things-assessment to understand how it is likely to evolve in our ever-changing sector.  

The online festival will gather diverse voices to share and celebrate assessment and feedback practices which are proven to enhance the student experience.  

There will be learning points for everyone, whether you are an academic, student officer, senior leader or quality professional.

QAA - Co-creating Assessments Workshop
19th January - 10:00am - 12:00pm

Let’s get together! In this workshop, students and academics will collaborate as active co-inquirers.

The interactive session aims to build a shared understanding of assessment for, and as, learning to help students understand how assessments are designed.  With academics and students working together, it offers an opportunity to engage in constructive dialogue and co-create an assessment.  

This interactive workshop is designed for academics, module leaders and course leaders – please encourage your students to come along too.

16th Nov 2022 at 2pm - Guest Speaker: Guy Aitchison is a Lecturer in Politics and International Studies at Loughborough University who teaches in political philosophy and applied ethics.The session will look at using Vevox successfully in different classroom settings, from virtual teaching during the pandemic to ‘hybrid' and in-person methods of delivery.

19th Oct 2022 at 2pm - Guest Speaker: Kellyanne Findlay is a Senior Teaching Fellow at the University of Strathclyde, having joined the university in 2003. Kellyanne will be sharing her advice on how to best use Vevox with Microsoft Teams in classes to engage students.

QAA - Embedding Inclusive Assessment Workshop
18th October - 12:00pm - 2:00pm

We recently published a set of inclusive assessment attributes which were developed as part of a Collaborative Enhancement Project.

Later in August, the project team, led by Teesside University, will publish a reflective toolkit, a suite of case studies and an evaluative project report.

Join us for this workshop as we build on the findings of the project, and support you to embed inclusive assessment design in your own practices.

This session is designed for leaders, academics and students who are invited to reflect individually and collectively on how the attributes relate to the provision they oversee/provide/experience.

Enough to break the ice! Using Vevox for Icebreaker Activities". The webinar will explore effective ways to utilise Vevox for icebreaker activities to increase student engagement.

Have you been wondering how to make assessment more meaningful, engaging, challenging and even enjoyable for students?

Come along to this participatory workshop as we work our way through elements of the Hallmarks of Success Playbook: Assessment in Digital and Blended Pedagogy and encourage you to reflect on your own practice and share development ideas with peers.

Through focused group discussions, we aim to identify roadblocks to success and propose measures which can be used to overcome them. 

This workshop will appeal to a range of colleagues including senior leaders, heads of department, course leaders, academics and quality professionals.
