thunder and the noise storms

Learning Goal Focus:

IDENTITY: How might reading about others help us better understand ourselves?

Minds On:

  • What do you think a "noise storm" is?

  • When might there be a "noise storm" during the day at school? at home? in other places?

  • Make a list of noises. Can you sort them into "good" noises and "bad" noises? What reasons do you have for your sorting?

While we read:

  • How do the different noises make Thunder feel? How you ever noticed how different noises affect you? How do the noises that Thunder hears in the first few pages make you feel?

Minds on:

  • Think about a time when you have gone on a walk with a family member, like a grandma or grandpa. What did you hear? What did you hear?

  • If you can, go for a walk with a grown up. Try and focus on the idea of "quiet wonder". What can you see and hear if you both stay quiet on your walk? What pictures might you take to document your observations?

What do Thunder and the Noise Storms and Raven, Rabbit, Deer have in common?

How are they different?
