Let’s see how melting land ice (e.g. ice found in places like Antarctica and Greenland) impacts the waters and lands around it.
Let’s see how melting land ice (e.g. ice found in places like Antarctica and Greenland) impacts the waters and lands around it.
Supplies:
- - container
- - water (with blue food dye)
- - ice cubes - clay
- - marker
Place clay in half the container. Add a small amount of water to the container – mark the water level on the outside of the container. Place ice cubes on top of the clay. Let ice melt and watch what happens to the water level. Mark the change to the water level on the outside of the container. What happens? What does this mean if this is what is happening on Earth? Share your observations with others.
