HSC All My Own Work (AMOW)
The HSC All My Own Work (AMOW) Program is integrated with Guidance and selected KLAs. The four modules are completed over the course of Year 10. It is a requirement by NSW Education Standards (NESA) that all Year 10 students in NSW complete the HSC All My Own Work program before they submit any work for Preliminary (Year 11) or HSC (Year 12) courses. The structure of the program at Cerdon College is as follows:
Topic 1: What is all my own work?
For students in Year 10, the first topic for AMOW is completed in Term 1 during a Guidance lesson. Topic 1 includes the following sections:
1.1 Introducing key terms
1.2 Glossary activity
1.3 What is all my own work?
1.4 When is it not all my own work?
1.5 Why does academic integrity matter?
To complete Topic 1:
Work through the reading and videos for each section listed above. Start with section 1.1 and progress through to section 1.5. You can access Topic 1 here.
Then complete the Topic 1 quiz (at the end of section 1.5). Click on the button to 'Go to the Topic 1 quiz' and enter your FULL NAME (this will appear on your certificate for Topic 1 as evidence of your satisfactory completion). There are five questions to answer to test your understanding of the concepts covered in Topic 1. Questions are randomly generated. When you complete the quiz, you will be able to view your score. At this stage, you can choose to retake the quiz.
When you have completed the quiz, download a copy of the certificate for your records.
Then upload your Certificate of Completion for Topic 1 to the HSC AMOW Google Classroom. This is evidence for the school that you have satisfactorily completed Topic 1 of the HSC All My Own Work program.
Topic 2: What is plagiarism?
For Year 10 students, this topic is completed in Term 2 during the Year 10 Science Research Project.
Topic 2 includes the following sections:

2.2 Why do people plagiarise?
2.3 Unintentional and intentional plagiarism
2.4 Detecting plagiarism
To complete Topic 2:
Work through the reading and videos for each section listed above. Start with section 2.1 and progress through to section 2.4. You can access Topic 2 here.
Then complete the Topic 2 quiz (at the end of section 2.4). Click on the button to 'Go to the Topic 2 quiz' and enter your FULL NAME (this will appear on your certificate for Topic 2 as evidence of your satisfactory completion). There are five questions to answer to test your understanding of the concepts covered in Topic 2. Questions are randomly generated. When you complete the quiz, you will be able to view your score. Topic 3: How do I acknowledge other people's work?
For Year 10 students, Topic 3 is completed during a PDHPE lesson in Term 2.

3.3 How to acknowledge a source
To complete Topic 3:
Work through the reading and videos for each section listed above. Start with section 3.1 and progress through to section 3.3. You can access Topic 3 here.
Then complete the Topic 3 quiz (at the end of section 3.3). Click on the button to 'Go to the Topic 3 quiz' and enter your FULL NAME (this will appear on your certificate for Topic 3 as evidence of your satisfactory completion). There are five questions to answer to test your understanding of the concepts covered in Topic 3. Questions are randomly generated. When you complete the quiz, you will be able to view your score. Topic 4: How can I work honestly?
For Year 10 students, Topic 4 is completed during an English lesson in Term 3.
Topic 4 includes the following sections:

4.3 Learning tips and tricks
4.4 Scenario
To complete Topic 4:
Work through the reading and videos for each section listed above. Start with section 4.1 and progress through to section 4.4. You can access Topic 4 here.
Then complete the Topic 4 quiz (at the end of section 4.4). Click on the button to 'Go to the Topic 4 quiz' and enter your FULL NAME (this will appear on your certificate for Topic 4 as evidence of your satisfactory completion).
