The aim of Drama is to engage and challenge all students to maximize their dramatic abilities and enjoyment of drama and theatre through the following three areas:
Making: to explore a range of imagined and created situations.
Performing: to perform in front of a live audience exploring a variety of different techniques and engaging with an audience.
Appreciation: to reflect on the personal, social, cultural, aesthetic and political aspects of our human experience.

You must be willing to try all activities.
Drama is a combination of group and individual tasks. You must be prepared to work with different people and at times on your own.
Drama needs self-disciplined and motivated students who are willing to invent from their imaginations and utilise the theory they are studying in practical performances.
You don’t have to have studied Drama before.
Drama is more than just acting. Actors need to develop skills in other areas of Drama including costume design, video, publicity and reviewing.
If choosing Drama it can provide an excellent background for HSC Drama.
Career options include: acting, technical crew, design, scriptwriting, communications, teaching, childcare, lawyer – any occupation where you will need to communicate and deal with people.
Drama helps to build your self-confidence, teamwork, presentation skills, imagination and your understanding of people and their stories.

Course includes an excursion to see a live performance or participate in an external workshop in both year 9 and 10. Cost may vary depending on ticket prices but generally range from $30 - $50.
