House Captains & Vice Captains

House Captains

There are 4 Houses at Cerdon College that are used for sporting and academic competitions. Each house represents a different branch of the Marist family:

• Colin House: The Marist Fathers (Wine Red)
• Marcellin House: The Marist Brothers (Forest Green)
• McOscar House: The Marist Sisters (Aussie Gold)
• Perroton House: The Marist Missionary Sisters (Pacific Blue)

Each house is led by a Year 11 House Captain, a Year 10 House Vice-Captain and three staff designated as House Mentors.

The House Captain’s responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

• Working with House Mentors and House Vice-Captain to create house spirit and encouragement to be involved in house events
• Ensure that their house endeavours to support the larger plans of the College Vice-Captain (Sport) by attending meetings to be aware of the whole school context of events
• Plan and prepare house meetings in preparation for College carnivals, such as: swimming, athletics and cross country carnivals.
• Ensure that their house is represented in the variety of college events, including knowledge challenge and house morning tea.
• Participation in the Year 7 House liturgy on the first day of school for Year 7 students
• Plan and assist in the development of year group lunch activities, run along house lines
• Assisting in the leadership development of the House Vice-Captain
