Service Leader

There are 10 Year 10 Service Leaders at Cerdon College.

The Service Leader is a student who gives example to one of our core Marist values of “service” - practically responding to the legitimate needs of other people. As Jeanne Marie Chavoin, foundress of the Marist Sisters and our school patroness, responded to the needs of the people in Cerdon France, so too the Service Leader is a model of service to the Cerdon community.

A Cerdon Service Leader in the Marist tradition:

“......Strives to serve by simply ‘fitting in’ wherever she can be of service, neither seeking esteem nor acknowledgement.” (http://www.marists.net/)

Her specific responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

Assisting in the liturgical life of the school, for example: setting up and participating in school Masses as a reader, altar server or in processions
Actively engaged in all school major events, such as: Open Day and Showcase
Representing Cerdon at Diocesan and other external events related to their role
Actively participating in fundraising initiatives of the school, for example, setting up and cooking BBQ’s
Being ready to assist with the movement of furniture and equipment for major school activities, for example: examinations and prize giving nights.
