Robust and reliable assessment and tracking, across each academy, is at the heart of systems that track pupils’ progress as a starting point for evaluating and improving the quality of teaching and learning. This is vital for our pupils with SEND. Academies that regularly assess pupils track the progress of individuals and groups of pupils in relation to the targets set for them and intervene accordingly, achieve the best rates of progress and are well placed to intervene to support pupils whose progress raises concerns. Collection and analysis of data through appropriate assessment tools to support discussions about pupils’ progress should be embedded into each academy practice.
This section outlines some of the key systems and processes that we use at Outwood for our SEND pupils.
This document provides an overview for all the SEND system related actions required on a half termly basis and when to initiate, organise and prepare for these. This includes using the SEND register and key points of entry for Edukey, CPP and the SEMH tracker as well as statutory reviews.
The Core Progression Pathway (CPP) system is a detailed method of tracking progress used across Outwood Primary Academies for those children who are working well below their National Curriculum age-related expectation.
