Step 1: Stop
If you notice that you are having a hard time maneuvering the vehicle (sliding or loss of traction) due to the weather (intense rain or snow/ice) immediately pull over to the nearest safe location.
Step 2: Radio the Leader
As soon as you are able to, radio the Nightly Operations Leader to notify them of what has happened.
The Nightly Operations Leader contact the Coordinator to determine if service needs to end for the night.
Step 3: Plan
If you have riders in the vehicle or in your itinerary, work with the Nightly Operations Leader to get those rides complete.
Step 4: Incident Report
The last step is either the Driver or the Navigator needs to complete an incident report form. The link is below.
If there are so many details that it would be difficult to write the report on the iPad, report back to the SafeRide office to write the IR on the computer.
