Step 1: Radio the Leader
As soon as you are able to, radio the Nightly Operations Leader to notify them of what is happening.
If you weren’t able to tell the Nightly Operations Leader before the offer comes to the window, ask the officer if you can radio your Leader to inform them of the pause in service.
Step 2: Note
Write down everything the officer told you, especially the following:
Reason for stopping the vehicle
Warnings or citations given
Any further instructions or information that the Coordinator should know about
Step 3: Incident Report
The last step is either the Driver or the Navigator needs to complete an incident report form. The link is below.
If there are so many details that it would be difficult to write the report on the iPad, report back to the SafeRide office to write the IR on the computer.
After you are done, radio the Nightly Operations Leader to let them know you are resuming service.
