If you notice something happening outside the vehicle environment that is of concern (people fighting, property being stolen, stop sign not in proper position, road obstruction, etc) we need to notify the proper folks to address that. You do not need to physically intervene in these situations!
Step 1: Report
If it is an emergency (someone would need medical attention) call 911. Does not matter if you are on or off campus.
If it is not an emergency, and you are off campus, call the non emergency CPD number (541) 766-6924.
If it is not an emergency, and you are on campus, call the non-emergency DPS number (541) 737-3010.
Follow any instructions given by the dispatcher on what to do next. Keep information for IR.
Step 2: Radio the Leader
As soon as you are able to, radio the Nightly Operations Leader to notify them of what has happened.
Step 3: Incident Report
The last step is either the Driver or the Navigator needs to complete an incident report form. The link is below.
If there are so many details that it would be difficult to write the report on the iPad, report back to the SafeRide office to write the IR on the computer.
