Slack is where and how all Orchestra staff across all offices communicate internally. You can also connect with clients and external partners via Slack Connect or by joining other workspaces.
If you're new to Slack, we highly recommend that you take the time to familiarize yourself with all its functionality so you can customize your setup to best suit your needs and work style.
You will use Google Single Sign-On (SSO) to log in.
Since it’s using Google, it also means 2-factor authentication will also be in place for logging into Slack, the same way that it is for logging into Gmail.
Note:
Guest (non-staff) accounts will not have 2FA setup.

Help your teammates learn more about you by completing your profile. By default, everyone can add the following to their profile:
A name
Job description or title
Phone number
Time zone
Photo with a clear view of your face

@here to get the attention of anyone in the channel that is currently active on Slack
@channel to send a push notification to everyone in the channel, regardless of whether they are active or not; ideally should be reserved for company-wide notices and emergencies
@-tag a specific person's handle to get their attention in a channel; targeting your asks are highly recommended
Direct-message a specific person/people for more time-sensitive or private concerns
Create sidebar sections to organize your channels and messages
Respond in a thread to keep relevant messages organized and nested under the original message
Remind me... will allow you to go back to a message once you can give it the attention it needs
You can also use /remind functions
Star conversations and messages to bring them to the top of your left-hand navigation for easy access
Pin a message to refer back to it quickly in a channel; this is ideal for resources that are currently relevant to all members of the channel
Bookmark resources that you'll need in perpetuity as pinned messages will eventually be archived and you will lose access to them over time
Customize notification settings
Pause when you need uninterrupted time, e.g. when giving a presentation
Customize notification sounds for different workspaces, especially if you belong to client workspaces
Start a huddle in a channel or direct message
Schedule messages to send at a later date/time
We’re also launching 4 Orchestra-wide channels in the Orchestra Slack (formerly labeled as BerlinRosen). If you’re already connected to the existing BerlinRosen instance, no action is required and we’ll automatically add you. If you’re not yet in that workspace, you’ll receive a notification via Slack and email with instructions to join.
